1 Educational Technology Standards The intent of teaching technology is to help students become more efficient in using technology tools to enhance and support learning. Technology Literacy is the ability to responsibly, creatively and effectively use appropriate technology to: Communicate. Access, collect, manage, integrate and evaluate information. Solve problems and create solutions Build and share knowledge. Improve and enhance learning in all subject areas and experiences. Technology Fluency is demonstrated when students: Apply technology to real-world experiences. Adapt to changing technologies. Modify current and create new technologies. Personalize technology to meet personal needs, interests and learning style. Technology Grading Technology skills are assessed and graded in two areas in Kindergarten through 6 th grade and included on student report cards: EALR 1 Integration Students use technology within all content areas to collaborate, communicate, generate innovative ideas, investigate and solve problems. EALR 2 Digital Citizenship Students demonstrate a clear understanding of technology systems and operations and practice safe, legal and ethical behavior. The attached grade level specific technology skills are the small steps that lead students to mastering the two main learning standards. The skills are divided into three groups: Skills that are introduced at this grade level Skills that are developed or practiced at this grade level Skills that are assessed for proficiency
