Students will understand various technology concepts/applications and apply it to their everyday life. Technology is constantly changing and requires continuous learning of new skills. Selection of technology should be based on individual needs assessment. Students will understand that various forms of imagery will enhance a document. Technology can be used to aid in the production, communication, and problem solving of one's learning. Students will understand that technology extends beyond the classroom. In a world of constant change, what skills should we learn? How do I choose which technological tools to use and when it is appropriate to use them? How can I transfer what I know to new technological situation/experiences? Technology vocabulary - computer, monitor, keyboard, spacebar, headset, speakers, smartboard, mouse, double click mouse, left mouse button, projector, desktop, icon, software, input, document, font, text, word processor, edit, format, tools, create, Understanding and using features of an operating system. Grade appropriate effective input of text and data. Use files, folders, or network resources to store or retrieve data. Use computer icons. Use curriculum software for independent and classroom learning activities. Produce grade appropriate documents using age appropriate software. Create and produce a grade appropriate multimedia presentation/ project. Explain the use of an Acceptable Use Policy and consequences for inappropriate use of technology.
