2 PPM Petroleum Policy and Management The Goals of the Project is to enable government organizations responsible for petroleum resource management in the CCOP Member Countries to: 1. Establish a sustainable and efficient national petroleum management and policy, 2. Envisage the mechanism and importance in revising and improving their petroleum management and policy arrangements due to changes in political, economic and market conditions, and 3. Enhance their capacity and capability in petroleum resource management, based upon a realistic assessment of their own petroleum potentials utilizing national data. 4 PPM Philippines case study Specific Objectives to address the geological uncertainties of the frontier area, evaluate the appropriate incentives to attract companies to explore in such an area and an evaluation of the potential impacts on the Philippine society. Expected Results The results of this project should include an improved understanding and ability of the DOE and the other participating nations to evaluate the potential of this and similar basins. It should include a resource assessment of the Sulu Sea Basin, a view of possible development options, and a discussion of petroleum policy measures.
