BasinSPAN At the beginning of the lifecycle, in the early Exploration phase, oil and gas companies rely on ION s 2D multi-client BasinSPAN programs to help them evaluate the potential of new frontiers and identify new play concepts. Since we introduced GulfSPAN in 2002, our BasinSPAN library has grown to include approximately 400,000 km of basin-wide, deep, geologically driven data covering virtually all of the major frontier basins around the world. Depth imaged by ION s GX Technology (GXT) group using the most advanced geophysical processing techniques and tools available, each BasinSPAN program is custom designed to provide critical insight into the geologic evolution, deep-basin architecture, and depositional and structural history of the petroleum system. Arctic Solution Since acquiring our first survey in the Arctic in 2006, ION has developed and applied innovative technologies and solutions to help E&P companies eliminate barriers to successful exploration and production in one of the world s most challenging environments. We offer specialized procedures, tools and equipment to safely and efficiently collect high-quality seismic data under the ice, often in areas where no other data exists. To date, we have acquired over 60,000 km of 2D seismic data in the Arctic, including over 30,000 km under ice, and we are now ready to meet the challenges of 3D acquisition. The newest addition to our Arctic toolkit, Narwhal for Ice Management, is a system that integrates all available data to help operators better visualize and predict ice conditions for safer, more efficient operations.

4 ResSCAN Our ResSCAN onshore 3D imaging, characterization and microseismic monitoring programs help E&P companies better understand unconventional reservoirs to reduce cost, risk and uncertainty, while maximizing production. ResSCAN programs integrate the disciplines of geology, petrophysics, rock physics, geomechanics and geophysics with reservoir engineering to characterize shale reservoirs. As a result, operators can better assess acreage, prioritize drilling locations, optimize completion strategies and steer horizontal wells to stay in zone, minimizing drilling and completion costs and maximizing the number of high performance wells. Ocean Bottom Seismic The use of ocean bottom seismic (OBS) continues to expand, driven by the need for higher quality data to make better exploration and reservoir development decisions, including for 4D monitoring of mature fields. This growth has been accelerated by a step-change improvement in OBS acquisition efficiency and high end reservoir characterization and quantitative interpretation techniques. With the addition of OceanGeo, ION s OBS acquisition services company, ION now offers a full suite of OBS services, from survey design to data processing and reservoir services by ION s GX Technology experts.
