STOP ANIMATION CAMP - BRICK FLICKS AGES 9-14 Channel your child's creativity into creating! In Stop Motion-Animation: Brick Flicks, kids produce multiple stop-motion animation videos using LEGO bricks, minifigures, and Eclipse video-capture software. Campers express their creativity by developing stories with characters, green-screen backgrounds, and a high-definition webcam. Stop-motion videos produced in camp will be saved on a complimentary USB drive, to share with friends and family on Windows or Mac computers. In Video Production: Tube Stars, campers create engaging videos by learning how to write scripts, storyboard, and create a brand that builds fan engagement. Kids will learn the best way to frame and shoot video, edit videos, and create customized title screens. Kids will create videos in popular genres, including tutorial videos, gaming videos, unboxing videos and more. Videos used in this camp will be saved on a complimentary USB drive to take home to upload to YouTube.. FANTASY DRAWING WORKSHOP AGES 6-12 Enroll in this brand new Young Rembrandts workshop and enter the world of FANTASY in this 5 day drawing adventure to new worlds! We will explore both mystical creatures and fictitious characters. Let your imagination go wild while we teach you how to draw such things as: Unicorns and Pegasus, Trolls, Ogres, Wizards, Dragons and Fairies - to name a few. We will draw using a mixture of realistic and cartoon techniques using markers, oil pastels and traditional and water color pencils. We will also incorporate a few multimedia projects this summer. Boys and Girls alike will be engaged with the colorful, whimsical and enchanting week of creativity!. June 11,12,13,14,15 / 9:00 AM 12:00 PM / Fee - $ ******************************************************************************* MAD SCIENCE CAMPS All campers will receive a Mad Science camp T-shirt and lanyard name tag. Campers will receive a minimum of one take home item each day. Campers enrolling in BOTH Mad Science camps will need to bring a sack lunch and drink every day and eat lunch with the counselors. Mad Science provides a daily snack and beverage that is built into the day s activities. Please have campers wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. NEW! UNDERGROUND EXPLORERS AGES 7-12 Unearth the past in this archaeology and paleontology camp. Dig into the physical remains left behind by people and animals long ago! Learn how fossils were created. Make your own fossil replicas, including a Velociraptor claw, a T-Rex tooth, and an amber capsule. Identify ancient fossils. Explore human history by examining the objects that ancient peoples left behind. Delve into the mysteries the lost city of Pompeii. Participate in a mock archaeological dig and attempt to solve an ancient mystery. Preserve genuine artifacts and take home an ancient coin that you cleaned yourself!

3 The Land Before Time Campers begin their exciting journey into the world of paleontology and dinosaurs! They will learn about different types of fossils and even make a T-Rex tooth, a Raptor Claw and a Trilobite replica to take home. The day concludes with an excellently tasty excavation. Can You Dig It? Discover the care and attention to detail paleontologists must use to unearth ancient items. Compare teeth, skulls and bones to explore the difference between carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores. We definitely think you will dig this day! Pieces of Our Past Just what is archaeology and what can we learn from it? What types of materials last through time? We will use our observation skills and gather clues about patterns of use and wear and how people may have lived long ago. Buried Stories We will explore an ancient city in Italy known as Pompeii and investigate what happened to it when a giant volcano called Vesuvius erupted. Campers will also get to make their own volcano before the day is complete! Ancient Artifacts F ind out how archaeologists use stratigraphy, the study of soil and rock layers, to gain information and sometimes even excavate thrilling treasures! Experiment with metal detectors and see how they can help find buried metal. Even learn special techniques to clean the ancient coins you uncover. Minimum 12 / June 11,12,13,14,15 / 9:00 AM 12:00 PM / Fee - $ MAD SCIENCE - BRIXOLOGY AGES 7-12 BRIXOLOGY Camp sets the foundation for our next generation of makers! Kids learn about different types of engineering and then team up to construct a different engineering-themed project using LEGO bricks. They learn about aerospace engineering while assembling a space station. They explore mechanical engineering as they build boats and vehicles. That s not all, from carnival rides to drawing machines, mechanical animals to truss bridges; your future engineer will build upon their creativity to solve real-world design challenges, while developing their problem-solving and team-building skills. Let the tinkering begin! In this FUN-FILLED camp, students will be planning, preparing and then enjoying their healthy, lighter fare meals for lunch! Cool treats, smoothies, and a fun-filled outdoor picnic are a few of the many nutritious food activities planned for this very popular camp. Students will also learn some secrets to easy clean-ups that will save you time at home every day! Students are asked to bring an apron, a 3-ring binder, and wear a hat or bandana to camp. 4 ********************************************************** TAE KWON DO / KIDZ SAFETY CAMP GRADES 1-8 This energetic camp incorporates Tae Kwon Do along with Kidz Safety. Students will learn the basic blocks of self-defense along with other martial art moves. Returning Tae Kwon Do students will further their knowledge of this Korean Martial Art similar to Karate. Kidz Safety is also part of this exciting camp. This new program is designed for kids of all ages, sizes and energy. Students will learn life skills and easy to learn self-defense techniques that have been tested and used by law enforcement that will last a lifetime. Each day Kidz Safety will teach a theme implementing character development, decision-making skills, and responsible behavior along with lifetime self-defense skills. Kidz Safety will teach your student how to react to threats from other children as well as from strangers. These classes are taught using the most fun and safe instructional methods. Students are asked to wear comfortable clothing & tennis shoes NO SANDALS PLEASE Minimum 6 / June 11,12,13,14,15 / 9:00 12:00 / Fee - $99.00 HIGHLAND HUMMINGBIRDS SOCCER CAMP AGES 3 6 Register for this fun filled class and learn the basics of soccer: dribbling, foot skills, passing, trapping, shooting, defense and positioning. Each session consists of instruction in each aspect of the game, participation in fun drills that are designed to teach fundamental skills to young children, and low-key, non-competitive games. All coaching will be conducted by Jump Start Sports staff. Hummingbirds Soccer is a terrific introduction to soccer and organized sports and a fun and meaningful experience for the whole family! Register ONLINE at Program held at Granger Elementary fields Students will receive a t-shirt Tuesdays / June 12, 19, 24 July 10, 17, 24 3 & 4 year olds 5:30 PM 6:30 PM / Fee - $ & 6 year olds 6:30 PM 7:30 PM / Fee - $75.00 HIGHLAND LACROSSE CAMP GRADES 1 TO 6 Boys and girls entering grades 1 6 can learn to play one of the fastest growing sports in the United States. Lacrosse is action packed and lots of fun! The sport has elements of soccer, football, basketball and hockey. Once you try lacrosse, you will love lacrosse! All equipment will be provided in this highly instructional program. Players will receive instruction on the fundamentals, including: passing and catching; fielding ground balls; cradling; spacing and positioning; and defense. Then they will be divided by gender and age to play fun game situational scrimmages, which will help them learn more and enjoy the fast-paced action of the game. Plastic sticks will be used and no checking, stick checking, or poking will be allowed. No helmets or shoulder pads will be used. Players should wear cleats and a mouth guard.
