1 Versin Preferences 1.1 Startup Screen (Mac nly) These ptins appear in a small separate windw fr Mac users when Myth starts up. If it is set t n lnger shw this dialg, just hld Optin key when launching Myth t bring it up again. Can be used in cmbinatin with the Windwed setting in Myth s preferences t run the game in a windw. Dn t play cutscenes When checked, disables all cutscenes. Dn t shw this dialg again n startup When checked, des nt bring up these settings again. 1.2 Graphics Landscape Textures When checked, detail textures (a.k.a. dtex) appear n maps if yu have the right files. Sme plugins cme with built in detail textures while thers d nt. Yu can dwnlad add-ns that add detail textures t ld maps. Detail textures affect maps withut frcing everybdy t dwnlad a new cpy f a map and withut requiring thers frm having the same add-ns. If checked, they can be tggled n/ff during a game using either the Page Up r F11 keys. Anistrpic/Landscape Filtering When checked (OpenGL/DirectX), textures lk better when viewed at steep angles. When checked (Sftware), will smth ut the clrmap t make it lk better. Mtin Interplatin When checked, Myth will interplate intermediate frames between the game engine frames (a.k.a. ticks) which run at 30Hz. This makes the mtin f bjects smther, creating the illusin that the game engine (physics, etc.) runs at the full fps that yur cmputer can handle. In rder t achieve this effect, graphics are delayed by ne tick, s what appears n screen is slightly behind what is happening. The effect f mtin interplatin may nt be bvius t all users. T cmpare, run a single player map with and withut this setting at a slwer game speed and watch arrws and bttles as they mve. VSync When checked, synchrnizes yur frames per secnd (FPS) with yur mnitr's refresh rate. This eliminates the screen tearing effect due t displaying partial frames. 32 Bit (Windws nly) When checked, runs Myth in 32-bit clr. This applies t all graphics except detail textures and reduces banding n texture gradients. Earlier versins have always used 16-bit (except fr DirectX 11 which is always in 32-bit). Myth fr Linux and Mac OS X (Universal Binary) run in 32-bit clr, and the Mac Classic build runs in 16-bit clr. 3D Fg When checked, will shw fg n maps that use it, like the single player map "Salvatin". Windwed/Autmatic/Fullscreen (Windws nly) Fullscreen Standard fullscreen mde, n the primary mnitr. Changes the mnitr's reslutin t the selected ne. Autmatic Runs in a windw with the selected reslutin, if it wuld fit n the desktp. Otherwise, behaves like Fullscreen. Windwed Runs in a windw with the selected reslutin, if it wuld fit n the desktp. Otherwise, enters a special windwed-fullscreen mde which creates a brderless windw which cvers the current mnitr. The mnitr reslutin is never changed in windwed mde, s Alt+Tab is typically much faster than in fullscreen mde. (Windwed mde is highly recmmended n Windws Vista and abve.)

2 Max FPS When checked, frces Myth t shw n mre frames per secnd than the value yu selected. Can hld Shift while clicking t enable bth VSync and Max FPS instead f ne r the ther. (Having bth is nt recmmended unless yu knw what yu are ding.) Tex. Cache Allws yu t manually specify the amunt f VRAM in megabytes Myth shuld use t cache textures and sprites. A gd rule f thumb is t set this number t be apprximately 75% f yur graphics card s ttal memry. Rendering Allws yu t select the rasterizer that will be used during games. OpenGL and DirectX 11 are the recmmended ptins as they supprt certain features the lder ptins (Direct3D, Sftware, etc.) d nt supprt. Which ne runs better fr yu depends n yur cmputer hardware and drivers. Myth will autmatically rder the list frm mst recmmended t least. Reslutin Allws yu t select the reslutin Myth will use during a game. Gamma Allws yu t cntrl the brightness f the game. Duble click the slider t reset t default. 1.3 Sund Vlume Allws yu t set the sund vlume f the game. F3/F4 keys can be used t change the vlume at any time. (Mac/Linux: vlume cannt be changed during cutscenes.) Ambient Sunds When checked, will play ambient sunds during games. In Game Subtitles When checked, will shw in game subtitles fr sunds that make use f them. DirectSund/Sund Manager/OpenAL/Nne Allws yu t chse the sund prvider Myth will use. If yur sund is nt wrking, try switching the selected sund prvider. Menu Music When checked, Myth will play music in the main menu. 3D Sund (Windws) When checked, Myth will play sunds differently s that their specific 3D lcatin is mre bvius instead f the current way sunds are played. This ld setting is nt recmmended and is knwn t cause issues. 1.4 Optins Shw Status Bar When checked, shws the status bar fund at the tp f the screen during a game. Can be tggled in game with F6. Shw Cntrl Bar When checked, shws the cntrl bar fund at the bttm f the screen during a game. Can be tggled in game with Shift+F6. Interface Transparency When checked, makes the status and cntrl bars transparent. Can be tggled in game with Ctrl+F6. Disable Persistent Frmatins When checked, will nt keep the units in the same frmatin yu last used. Instead they will use a frmatin that matches their current psitins relative t each ther. If yu want yur selected units in frmatin, yu will have t keep setting ne each time yu mve them. TFL Style Gesture Arrws When checked, will use Myth TFL style gesture arrws. T see these gesture arrws, just select units, hld click n ne f them, and drag ut in any directin. This nly changes the appearance f the gesture arrws. TFL Style Selectin Bxes When checked, will use Myth TFL style selectin bxes. These selectin bxes are just thicker than Myth 2 style. Gd fr players that have a hard time seeing the standard selectin bxes at higher reslutins.

3 Use Persistent Ready (Multiplayer) When checked, will nt reset the "Ready" buttn when a game hst changes the settings t a game, which wuld nrmally require yu t press "Ready" again. Useful fr players that are nt always paying attentin when settings are altered befre the game is started. Hlding Shift as Ready is pressed will d the ppsite f what yu have set. Meaning, if this checkbx is nt checked, hld Shift while pressing it will use persistent ready fr that ne instance. Autsave Films (Multiplayer) When checked, Myth will autmatically save films f netgames. Use Multiple Prcessrs / Cres (Windws nly) When checked, allws Myth's threads t run n multiple cres. While Myth itself is nt multithreaded, mdern graphics drivers are, and in sme situatins very large FPS gains have been bserved. Lck/Unlck N Bld Allws yu t eliminate bld and gre frm the game. A dialg will cme up with tw passwrd fields. If yu select OK withut entering a passwrd, bld will be replaced by twinkling stars, and bdy parts by scraps f armr. If yu enter a passwrd in bth fields and select OK, then yu will need the crrect passwrd t unlck the n bld ptin. Interfaces Allws yu t chse a custm interface t use fr Myth which changes the appearance f mst things. Sme interfaces als change certain sunds and even the fnts f the text shwn. Cntrls Allws yu t alter the keybard and muse cntrls f the game.? Opens this helpful file if it is lcated in yur Myth II flder. 2. Cntrls Enable Muse Mvement When checked, allws yu t mve the camera by mving yur muse t the tp, bttm, and sides f the screen. Tp Crners Rtate Camera When checked, lets yu rtate the camera by placing yur muse in the upper left and right crners f the screen. Bttm Crners Orbit Camera When checked, lets yu rtate the camera by placing yur muse in the lwer left and right crners f the screen. Reverse Axis When checked, reverses the directin yur camera will mve when yu place yur muse in the crners r sides f the screen. Left Click Desn't Gesture When checked, the muse left click buttn will nt gesture. Gesturing allws yu t change the directin yur units face. TFL Muse Actins When checked, the way yu target enemies is the same as Myth TFL. When targeting with yur melee units, a regular click will nw just target enemies f the same type instead f all enemies. Shift clicking will target all enemies instead f just the same type. Use Cntrl Bar Inventry When checked, changes the way the inventry system is shwn. Nw when yu press the inventry key (I), the cntrl bar buttns will be switched with buttns that represent inventry items f the selected unit. Alternate Preset Recall When checked, presets are recalled directly by pressing the number keys. (G t the Key Cmbs sectin fr mre inf.) System Keybard Layut (Windws/Mac) When left unchecked, Myth will use the Standard US keybard layut, even if yu have an internatinal (nn US) keybard. When checked, there may still be sme keys that d nt match with what yu wuld expect fr internatinal keybards.

4 Current Set Allws yu t stre multiple sets f keybard preferences. This is especially useful if mre than ne persn plays Myth n the same cmputer. Simply click the set yu want t edit r use. If yu nly use ne set r dn t knw what t d, stick t the default. Revert Set Allws yu t reset the keybard settings fr a given set t the default values. Right Click The actin t take when yu use the muse right click buttn. Gesture Mve (Default) Allws yu t gesture selected units withut accidentally switching t selectin bx mde and frce yu t retry gesturing. Attack Grund Allws yu t attack the grund just like using Ctrl+clicking. Deselect Units Allws yu t deselect yur units when yu right click anywhere. Ignred Allws yu t use right click fr smething utside f Myth. Muse Wheel The actin t take when yu scrll the muse wheel. Ignred (Default) Allws yu t use muse wheel fr smething utside f Myth. Mve Allws yu t mve the camera frward/backward just like W/S keys. Zm Allws yu t zm the camera in/ut just like C/V keys. Cycle Presets Allws yu t cycle frward/backwards n yur unit presets. Cycle Inventry Allws yu t cycle up/dwn n a unit s inventry list. Caps Lck The actin t take when yu tggle Caps Lck. Ignred Allws yu t use Caps Lck fr smething else in cntrls r utside f Myth. Selectin Bxes (Default) Allws yu t shw faded selectin bxes/health bars f yur units withut having them selected. This way yu knw which units are yurs and see their health. Health Bars Allws yu t shw nly the health bars f yur units withut having them selected. This way yu d nt cnfuse the selectin bxes f selected and unselected units. Players Stats Allws yu t shw the F7 player stats withut having t hld that key. Chat Backlg Allws yu t shw the mst recent chat in the game withut hlding Up Arrw. Hriz Muse Mvmt The actin t take when yu mve the muse t the sides f the screen in game. Mve (Pan) (Default) Allws yu t pan the camera t the sides like Z/X keys. Rtate Allws yu t rtate the camera like A/D keys. Orbit Allws yu t rbit the camera like Q/E keys. Ignred Allws yu t d nne f the abve. 3. The campaign list als has a type-t-seek functin, which can take yu t the first item that starts with the letters yu type.

Play Narratin (C-p) When checked, allws the c-p game t play narratins and cutscenes fr all players. The game wn't start until all players are dne watching r skipping the narratins and cutscenes. Allws Old Clients When checked, allws players with lder versins f Myth than the hst player t jin the game. Useful ptin t disable in rder t prevent having players with a versin that might nt be fully cmpatible with a map yu want t play. 5. Key Cmbs Frmatins/Presets (Number keys) (Nte: When Alt/Cmd is mentined, it means Alt key is used fr Windws while Cmmand key fr Mac.) By default, The number keys set the frmatin the selected units will use. Duble tap the same number key t set the frmatin in place. Hlding Alt/Cmd+(number key) fr a few secnds creates unit presets while pressing, but nt hlding, nly recalls the unit preset. In alternate preset recall, The number keys recall unit presets. Duble tap the same number key t center the camera n the unit preset. Alt/Cmd+(number key) creates unit presets instantly. Hlding Shift while pressing number keys adds/remves presets frm selectin. Rtate Preset/Set Frmatin (F) By default, rtates presets (cycles thrugh them) and centers the camera n them : Des nt center the camera n the unit preset if yu use Shift+F. In alternate preset recall, sets frmatins by pressing F and then a number key. Shift+F and then a number key t set the frmatin in place.

6 Shift+(Cntrl Bar Frmatin buttns) Sets the frmatin in place. Shift+ Zm In/Out (C/V) Cycles thrugh a few zm presets. Mre zming presets available in films and fr bservers in a game. Wrks with muse wheel zming as well. Alt+Enter/F11 (Windws) Tggles between windwed/fullscreen mdes even in a game. Yu can then resize r maximize the windw. Shift+resizing cnstrains the windw t specific reslutins. Al+F10 (Windws) Tggles On Tp mde which frces Myth t stay n tp f all windws even if yu select ther windws. Ctrl+G (Windws/Linux) Tggles Grab Cursr which lcks the cursr inside Myth s windw. Print Screen r Windws key/optin+f12 Takes a screensht (in BMP frmat) f Myth and saves it in the screenshts flder. OpenGL/DirectX: Use with Shift t save a mega screensht that is 8,000 pixels wide. Delete/Frward Delete Tggles the FPS/ping display n the right tp crner f the screen. Can use Shift+Backspace/Delete as well. (Nte: The Delete key n Windws is the Frward Delete key n Mac. The Backspace key n Windws is the Delete key n Mac.) 1.8.0: Nw shws ping fr netgames. Shift+ Next Tip In the game hints dialg, this will cycle backwards t the previus tip. Ctrl+(Plus) Frces a win in single player : Nw wrks n the nn-keypad plus key. Ctrl+(Minus) Frces a lss in single player : Nw wrks n the nn-keypad minus key. Duble Click Kill Cunt Tggles between displaying all shields/skulls r ne icn and a number. Click Mapset/Campaign Tggles the rder they are shwn between alphabetical and map cunt. 6. Dt Cmmands These cmmands are used in chat t give yu sme extra infrmatin. While the metaserver might have its wn dt cmmands, these are part f Myth n matter what metaserver yu are n. Mst f these nly wrk in the game lbby but sme als wrk in the metaserver lbby r give different infrmatin in the metaserver lbby. Only the user will see the messages made by these cmmands..help Gives yu a list f dt cmmands yu can use in case yu dn t remember them..cunt Tells yu the player cunt in the game and the player limit s yu knw if the game is full..hst Tells yu which player in the game is the hst..inf Tells yu the game name as well as the infrmatin.cunt,.hst,.plugins, and.versin give yu..plugins Tells yu which plugins the game currently has active..userid Tells yu the user ID number f the player yu selected. Useful t track impersnatrs..versin Tells yu what versin and build number f Myth yu are running..vets Tells yu if vets are enabled and if there are any veteran units frm previus games.
