Condensation may form in the sheet channels in certain weather conditions. This is a temporary condition that is typically of short duration. It does not affect the function and service life of the sheets as defined by the published warranty.

3 Preparation 1. Sheet storage recommendation, wherever possible, is to be stored flat and ideally indoors. Exterior storage requires covering pallet against weather elements We recommend a roof pitch of at least 5 to allow rainwater runoff. This has the added benefit of maintaining seal integrity and the glazing is naturally cleaned by rainwater. The chosen supporting structure must be non-warping, i.e. laminated timber beams or metal supporting structures with longitudinal rafters on which the glazing bars are mounted. 3. Install the base section of the glazing bar to the rafter. The glazing bar edge seals against the rafter and the sheet. 4. The sheet width (B) is calculated as the total of the rafter spacing, glazing bar dimensions, and sheet expansion allowance. 4 Cutting to size 6. Mark dimensions on the masking which should not be removed until completing all fabrication work and after installation. Cut sheets using a conventional circular saw equipped with a carbide tip blade. For more information, refer to the Fabrication Guide. 7. Plastic chips and dust that collect in the channels, as a result of cutting, can be blown out with compressed air or cleared by a shop vac. 8. Where the sheet needs to be trimmed, cut as close to the next rib to ensure a rigid clamping profile. 9. Corner cutouts are often required (e.g. for pipes, ventilation, etc.). Use a jig saw (without pendulum stroke). Drilling can be performed with twist drills (point angle ϕ ), conical or step drills. 10. The potential for condensation in the channels exist but can be controlled by sealing the top edge of the sheet and covering the bottom with a material that allows air to flow through. With air flow through the channels, condensation that forms may dry out while creating a barrier from dust, dirt, and bugs.

5 Installation 11. Place the Makrolon multi UV sheets on the purlins. It is important to place the side with UV protection facing outwards or upwards. This side is marked on the masking and stamped along the sheet edge. Avoid walking on the sheets. If necessary, place a thick plank across the sheet. 12. Peel back the masking and fasten the upper sections of the glazing bars using the recommended screws and washers. Depending on the glazing system, a cover section is then clipped on. 13. Finally, remove the masking from the Makrolon multi UV sheets. It should not be exposed to weathering for more than 24 hours. 14. Seal the top edge of the sheet to prevent air and moisture from penetrating the channels. Use a sealant that is compatible with Makrolon sheet.
