1 JAN. 19, 2011 Homag Fixed-Table CNC Processing Center, Model Profi BMG 511/40/12/R The BMG 500 gantry series of high-performance processing centers was created from an innovative concept that offers new technology with optimized interaction between components. This series of processing center offers an extensive range of equipment possibilities for industrial multiple-shift operation. The BMG 500 series of processing centers features a uniquely-constructed machine-base made of the solid, cast mineral/composite material SORB TECH, resulting in optimum processing quality through vibration dampening and extreme rigidity. This material boasts vibration dampening properties which are 2.5 times greater than those of steel alone, which is evident in the finished part quality, as well as the increase in tool life. In addition to the unique base material, rigidity is also ensured by the use of a dual, synchronized X-axis drive system for the moving gantry, resulting in the most favorable combination of precision and productivity. The extreme rigidity of the BMG's moving gantry allows for a full complement of machining units. This BMG 511 series machine features one heavy-duty Vector router spindle, together with a 14-tool ATC unit. Furthermore, this BMG 511 features an innovative computer numeric control (CNC) and a flexible matrix vacuum table. This design offers efficient, cost effective, high-speed batch size production with the ability to process a variety of work pieces on the same machine with minimum down time.
