Regular cleaning is therefore very important to ensure that this product can be used for a very long time. Cleaning does decisively contribute to an optimal tool life and cutting quality. By working with a clean tool you will moreover counteract excessive power consumption of the machine and thus higher energy costs. Our Multi-Clean tool cleaner is the efficient universal cleaning agent. We therefore recoend to use exclusively the AǀKǀE Multi-Clean. 11 Harmony FAQ esign How do I recognise Harmony cutters? They are recognisable by means of much bigger axial angles and the inscription Harmony. With which cutting material is Harmony tipped? Harmony jointing cutters are tipped with a very special, high-quality industrial diamond cutting material. This made it possible to achieve such an excellent cutting quality and huge efficiency even with high-performance processing. How often can these cutters be re-sharpened? The tipping with P knives is designed in such a way that the cutters can be re-sharpened several times. Jointing cutters for continuous feed lines and jointing cutters for machining centers have up to 14 re-sharpening cycles. epending on the diameter router bits have up to 4 re-sharpening cycles. Efficiency What is the price level of Harmony? Compared to conventional tools the prices for Harmony cutters are slightly higher, because of the higher number of P knives. This will, however, be more than compensated for by the versatility and longer service life. How long can a Harmony be applied? Which service life can be assumed? Harmony cutters provide the advantage of an up to three-fold service life compared to conventional cutters due to their sophisticated knife geometry and chip guiding technology. Is it worth while for me to use it? The efficient application of Harmony cutting tools depends on your requirements. If economic efficiency combined with an excellent cutting quality is your main criterion for selecting a tool, it will certainly be the case. Less reworking on the product and higher quality in general are guaranteed. Service life Is it possible to re-sharpen Harmony on conventional machines? Harmony cutters have an axial angle of 54 maximum and can thus be re-sharpened on all conventional machines worldwide. Where can I have them re-sharpened? You may have your Harmony cutters be re-sharpened directly at AKE or deliver them to your AKE service partner for servicing. Important: In order to achieve optimal results it is an advantage, if the cutters are not separated from their clamping system for re-sharpening. How much does re-sharpening cost? The re-sharpening costs of Harmony cutters depend on the length of the P knives on the cutter. Re-sharpening is somewhat more expensive than for conventional P cutters, however, this does pay, if set against all the advantages of this cutter. 11

Thanks to our recent new development a high-performance tool is now available which can be applied for manual feed and combines the advantages of optimal cutting quality and the new chip guiding technology. On which machines can Harmony be applied? Harmony tools are available for almost any machine used in furniture production, no matter whether you are applying edge banding machines, continuous feed lines or CNC machining centers. It is also possible to use Harmony on moulder machines. Is it possible to use Harmony on laser edge units or for zero-joint processing? The Harmony tool had specifically been designed in order to ensure that zero joints can be produced on edge banding machines without any problems. This is where Harmony exploits its full potential. Leading manufacturers of edge banding machines and leading kitchen manufacturers are already applying Harmony very successfully. For which application is Harmony particularly suitable? For universal application in solid wood and wood-based material. Everything from MF and chip board to plywood and solid wood can be processed. It can even be used for mixed material, such as, MF with veneer, chip board with aluminium, glue-laminated solid wood/chip board, Multiplex with HPL top coating etc. Which exit edge quality may be expected with wood-based material coated on both sides? Harmony cutters allow to leave the material against the grain or against glue-laminated / lacquered edges. If applied properly, damaged exit edges are not to be expected. 13 Harmony FAQ Tool holders Why do I need special holders for Harmony? All basic requirements should be met in order to ensure that Harmony cutters can take full effect. The applied clamping system therefore has to guarantee absolute true running. epending on the machine this is, for example, achieved by means of hydro clamping systems on continuous feed lines. On CNC machining centers this is guaranteed by means of shrink sleeves for shank tools or the unique HSK Plus clamping system by AKE. Which advantages does the HSK Plus clamping system offer? The high-performance clamping system HSK Plus, designed by AKE, is characterized by its outstanding runout accuracy. The user is thus in the position to fully utilize the cutter s performance. The clamping system does, moreover, impress with easy handling. The user does not have to buy any complex and expensive appliances for clamping the tools. The HSK Plus clamping system is therefore the most cost-efficient variant for applying high-performance tools effectively. Is it possible to clamp Harmony tools in collet chucks as well? Basically yes, it depends on the state of the collet chucks. The collet chuck is for universal clamping, but not a high-precision clamping tool. There is the risk that the knives will leave visible cutter marks on the material because of the reduced run-out accuracy. 13
