Off-line tool design using CIMulator3D To facilitate continuous work flow through the WGX, programs can be generated off-line on a PC using the same software as used on the machine. To further enhance this feature, new tool programs can be verified for size, shape and even machine clearance using the ANCA CIMulator3D software. CIMulator3D simulates the programmed tool path exactly as it would be ground on the machine reducing development time and trial grinding.

5 Diverse Software Suite Compression Router This software package is for tools where the cutter requires opposite cutting flutes on a single tool. Commonly called compression routers, they are also known as compound shear or up-down cutters. Profile Used for grinding a variety of profile tools such as routers or spindle blocks for cope and pattern sets. The software takes the cutting edge offset, hook, shear or helical angle data and automatically generates the true cutting edge form to achive the desired profile. Profiles can be drawn on the machine or imported directly as a DXF. Profile Blade Solely for manufacturing replaceable profile blades, the software uses the final profile shape to distort the profile to obtain the correct cutting edge shape based on the hook and shear angles. Profiles can be imported as a DXF or drawn directly on the machine. Finger Joint Cutter Dedicated software for manufacturing finger joint cutters. The software interface has parameter fields for the operator to input the tool geometry.

6 Options Tool-specific accessory options The WGX can be equipped with numerous options to suit various woodworking tool applications. These include popup steady, ibalance, autoloaders and a range of pneumatic or hydraulic work holding systems. For profile blade manufacture a fully automatic blade chuck is available. Key features include: Strong and rigid unit providing exceptional work holding Suitable for blades ranging in length from 8mm to 80mm Easily configurable to cater for different possible datum features on a wide variety of blade types Fully compatible with all WGX Autoloader options. When grinding large head routers it is important to have as much of the shank inside the collet as possible to ensure rigidity. When autoloading, this is not always possible so ANCA has developed a spring-loaded collet adaptor which allows the tool to be pushed into the collet to its maximum shank length and then expelled with spring force to allow access for the loader gripper. This smart feature ensures maximum tool insertion - and hence rigidity - in the collet at all times. Three distinctly different loader options to satisfy individual company needs

7 Multiple automation options There are many diverse sectors within the woodworking industry each with varying requirements for automation. WGX offers three distinctly different loader options to satisfy your unique needs. CLX Compact Loader Compact in design, this loader is mounted inside the machine and does not increase the machine footprint. It offers small batch loading capability enabling short periods of unmanned operation for better use of your labour force. The CLX is suitable for both round shank tooling and profile blades. WLX High Capacity Loader A high-production loader makes extended unmanned operation possible. The loader offers flexibility and can be set up to load: Profile blades Round shank tooling (drills, compression cutters) Routers with head diameters up to 90mm. The WLX equips you to take on an increased volume of work and with supporting ANCA products such as icontact can be operated completely unsupervised. The Loader software allows the machine to grind a batch of tools that are different in size, shape and type. This ensures the loader is used to its full capacity when possible. Robot Loader The WGX Robotic Loader provides an extremely flexible loading system. This loader option is ideal for handling complex or unusually shaped tooling such as finger joint cutters. The loader comes standard with four tool pallet stations offering potential for very high capacity.
