6 A UA GradoGrado Automatic Universal Head 1 x1 The new birotative universal head A UA 360 GradoGrado is the most innovative unit to be found on the market of boring and milling machines. This head permits the automatic positioning of the spindle in all positions of the space thanks to swivelling around by 360 of the two-workhead elements. Clamping and unclamping of the elements is controlled hydraulically and the swivel angle is adjusted directly by the numerical control. The special features of the head are as follows: High-speed values up to RPM, however permitting a low thermal delta essentially due to the lubrication - oil cooling system. The oil is set under circulation inside of the head by means of pumps. Angular contact bearings of the very high precision G7 class. The spindle rotation is obtained by using of taper gears casehardened, hardened and precision ground. Positioning of the two bodies which form the workhead (A and C) with resolution of 1. 7 Structures The frame structures of the HB 2ML BlueTech consist mainly of GJL300 cast-iron of high resistance. Special care has been dedicated to the design of the column, made of GJL300 cast-iron of high resistance, which is a casting sturdily ribbed so to optimize the global, flexional and torsional rigidity, especially near the guide ways. The machine bed for the column are designed and dimensioned in a manner to discharge uniformly the loads from the traveling guide ways to the supporting jackscrews. All bodies have been subject to a stabilizing treatment after roughing. LHS LAZZATI Hydrostatic System The sliding axes of the HB 2ML BlueTech machine are completely HYDROSTATIC. 8 Headstock Group A special feature of the HB 2ML BlueTech machine is the saddle - ram - head unit, which incorporates all controls for the rotation speed and the feed motions of the spindle. It consists of a saddle and a ram of sturdy pearlitic casting, which has been stabilized and hardened. This system ensures the best approach to the workpiece. As a matter of fact, it has the function to support sturdily up to the vicinity of the workpiece the automatic universal workhead that is part of the machine. The ram slides on the horizontal ways of the cradle through a system of hydrostatic pads having matching surfaces of same value thus allowing a very strong preload. The hydrostatic pads are integrating with the saddle and are realized in polyamide mterial so that to guarantee the integrity of the joining also in case of accidental lacks of lubrication. An hydro-mechanical compensating device enables maintaining the saddle-ram unit inside of the tolerances prescribed, during its horizontal motion (0,015mm on full Z travel). DCS Dynamic Compensation System The machine is equipped with an hydro-mechanical in process compensation system of Ram dropping during its out movement. At the Ram movement in negative direction (axis Z) there is the application of a force on the rollers of the main guide of the headstock. The force increasing causes a movement around the column contrary to that resulting from Ram out movement, thus balancing the forces and allowing a movement without errors. This means that the DCS system lets to have a perfect distribution of the weights and guarantee the best precision e smoothly movement WITHOUT ANY ELECTRONIC COMPENSATION or of the CNC. The dynamic compensations of which the machine is endowed of series, lets to maintain the total volumetric error inside the 0,015mm. on ALL THE RAM TRAVEL. This system permits without any problems the quick accelerations of the HB 2ML BlueTech machine due to reduced overall dimensions and masses to be moved. Kinematics The axes Y Z are driven via ball screws directly by means of A.C. BRUSHLESS motors of SIEMENS make. The high-precision ball-screws are hardened and ground and have a preloaded screw-nut. DPS-X: an A.C. BRUSHLESS MOTOR of SIEMENS make is used for driving the system. It has a double pinion for the entire take-up of the play acting on a rack with ground helical toothing, which forms one piece with the machine base. Measuring systems with optical scales and transducers of Heidenhain make A.C. brushless motors of Siemens make Cooling and Lubrication Plant The machine is provided with a Cooling unit for the temperature control of the oils. With particular regard to state-of-the-art machine tools, experience has taught us that more than 90% of all machine problems are caused by the failure of simple parts, such as limit switches, pressure switches, valves, and the like. Thanks to LRD, such failures and others are now eliminated quickly and inexpensively. As LRD permits direct access to the machine's control system and the functional sequences, the maker's service engineer no longer has to be in the machine user's factory in order to locate the cause of the problem. The remote control system, complete with an electronic hand wheel, permits an easy access close to the work piece for the purpose of zero-setting, checking and measuring. In order to facilitate the job of the operating personnel for assistance and maintenance, the machine is provided with powerful LAZZATI software for diagnosis and monitoring. CNC Heidenhain itnc 530-HSCI. Telescopic Covers and Chip Conveyor The bed guide ways (X-axis) are protected against impacts and chips by means of metal telescopic covers, which are perfectly tight. These are anchored on the two opposite sides of the column support and are held by a number of evolving supports (ball bearings) which run on appropriate rails on a base independent from the guide ways. At the ends of the bed there are the small beds which support the protection covers. The guide ways of the column (Y-axis) are protected by special steel of the Sheet Pocket. Chip Conveyor The machine is provided with a chip conveyor which helps to keep the work area always clean and facilitates the access for any control. The recovery and filtering system of the cooling liquid permits considerable saving of coolant-liquid cost, it also facilitates the disposal of the coolant and is indispensable for the use of perforated tools. LFC LAZZATI Feed Control: During the machining jobs the system allows to compare the operation status (axes thrust during drilling and spindle motor during milling) with the limiting values of each single tool. Therefore, it is necessary to detect the axis motor absorption for drilling thrust value and the spindle motor absorption for the power value. The limiting values can be programmed in the work piece program and stored like tool data. During the machining, if the thrust or power values exceed this limit; a message will advise the operator who could decide to modify the machining parameters. 12 Operator Platform A very ample living area, lights and electric supply gives a great comfort for the working time of the operator. It is provided with accesses both rear and front sides so that to facilitate the use and the view for the operator. It is ergonomically studied for the best comfort, visibility and accessibility for the operator to the working area. The CNC panel is positioned on spindle side and has the possibility to rotate in order to let the best visibility to the operator during the special operations.
