4 What is Wood Dust? 4 Held across four venues located in Queanbeyan and Bungendore NSW, and featuring a host of domestic and international woodworking demonstrators and toolmakers Wood Dust is Australia s new premier woodworking event. The next generation Australian woodworking event is coming. Wood Dust promises you a rich program that includes: talks and masterclasses by leading Australian and International craftspeople, an exhibition of fine woodwork at Bungendore Woodworks Gallery, a tool marketplace featuring visiting tool makers from everywhere, and of course some country hospitality. Come and immerse yourself in all things woodworking at Wood Dust. Visit to learn more Set in the Australian woodworking heartland of regional Southern NSW, Wood Dust will appeal to a broad audience providing people with an authentic festival experience featuring: an exhibition of fine woodwork by leading Australian and international craftspeople, captivating talks by woodworking celebrities, woodworking masterclasses for the professional and amateur, a tool marketplace event with old fashioned steak sandwiches, craft beer, music and live woodworking demonstrations. Festival Highlights Wood Dust offers its audience and exhibitors a range of unique highlights, some of which have never been experienced before in Australia: Toolmakers from around the world including Tom Lie Nielsen and the team from Veritas Tools - Vic Tesolin and Wally Wilson Internationally recognised woodworkers including Michael Fortune, Andy Buck and Fine Woodworking Magazine Special Projects Editor Matt Kenney The opening of the Australian Wood Review Studio Furniture 2018 exhibition at the Bungendore Woodworks Gallery A range of woodworking masterclasses and evening Q&A style lectures featuring international and Australian woodworking celebrities Timber & Tool Marketplace with authentically new feature displays including the Meet the Makers Pavilion, Luthiers Lane and performance stage, YouTube Studio and free woodworking demonstrations by woodworking celebrities everywhere. And in order to provide something for everyone, alongside Wood Dust is a regional Fringe Festival with tours to local wineries, restaurants and other attractions - a chance for the local community to show off their produce and services. Wednesday 17th - Friday 19th, daytime Series of woodworking masterclasses at the Dunstone Design Workshops Visit to learn more Thursday 18th, evening TBC - Drinks party at the Q Theatre. Networking Drinks at the Q Theatre a chance for everyone to mingle with the makers and presenters. Friday 19th, evening Country BBQ in Bungendore for Exhibitors and Participants. 10 Why Wood Dust? 10 Wood Dust is a new sustainable event for regional NSW. Queanbeyan and Bungendore are woodworking heartland, set within classic Australian landscape. The Wood Dust Festival leverages this situation creating an opportunity for the broader community that brings tourism, investment and new marketing opportunities to the region. Wood Dust Australia has the support of Mike Kelly MP, the Queanbeyan Council, Bungendore Chamber of Commerce, NSW Woodworker s Association and the ACT Woodcraft Guild. Wood Dust has entered into negotiations with and Destination NSW, the NSW Government s tourism department. Wood Dust will be thoroughly marketed through all platforms including website, social and print media. Wood Dust participants stand to have their brand strategically placed at the forefront of our campaigns to the existing woodworking market and a broader tourist market captured by the Fringe Festival. Wood Dust also creates an opportunity for a new international woodworking event that could feature in the global woodworking calendar.
