1 Instruction Sheet P/N Bolt Together Pump/Screw Together Frame Conversion Kit 1. Description The bolt together pump/screw together frame conversion kit changes your Rhino unloader from a 3-post screw together pump assembly to a 2-post bolt together pump assembly. The conversion kit allows you to install a bolt together pump to an unloader assembly that formerly held a screw together pump. The conversion kit is available in both a CE and non-ce version. Follow the safety instructions in this document and all other related documentation. WARNING: System or material pressurized. Relieve pressure. Failure to observe this warning may result in serious injury or death. Always refer to your system manual for the Bulk Unloader/Safety Procedure information and the instruction sheet for information on the shovel adapter service kit. Refer to the Rhino Bolt Together 65:1 Pump Service Kit instruction sheet for additional assembly and disassembly instructions. Preparing the Unloader Follow these instructions to convert your existing screw together pump assembly to a bolt together pump assembly. Refer to your system manual for procedures to complete the following tasks. 1. Shut off the air motor lockout valve. 2. Bleed hydraulic and pneumatic pressure from the system. 3. CE versions: Remove the air motor pump guard. 4. Place several blocks of wood on the frame base to prevent the follower plate from contacting the drum hold down assembly. 5. Lower the follower plate until it contacts the blocks. 6. Drain the solvent chamber fluid. 7. Operate the pump until the coupling is accessible. 8. Shut off the pump Nordson Corporation

4 4 Bolt Together Pump/Screw Together Frame Conversion Kit Removing the Screw Together Pump Perform these steps to remove the screw together pump. 1. See Figure 1. Refer to your system manual for instructions, as needed. Remove the coupling (12) and the air motor (1). Put them aside for reassembly. The air motor, the follower plate (8 or 15), coupling, and the elevator rods ( 2) will be reused. 2. Loosen the screws (9). Do not remove the elevator rods, connecting the plate (18) to the frame. 3. Remove the screws (9) and lockwashers (10) to separate the follower plate (8 or 15) from the screw together pump (16). Make sure the pump is secure and will not fall from the blocks when removing the screws (13) and lifting the elevator. 4. Remove the screws (13) and lockwashers (14), they will be reused. Raise the elevator to allow clearance, and to relieve any force from the elevator rods (2) on the plate. 5. Remove the plate, the rods (17), and the screw together pump (16). 5 Bolt Together Pump/Screw Together Frame Conversion Kit 5 Installing the Bolt Together Pump Perform these steps to install the bolt together pump. 1. See Figure 1. Install the shovel adapter/gasket kit (7) and your follower plate (8 or 15). Refer to your Shovel/Adapter Service Kit instruction sheet for more information. 2. Fasten the bolt together pump (6) to the follower plate. The hex head cap screws are part of the Shovel/Adapter Service Kit. Tighten to N m (25 30 lb-ft). 3. Fasten the bolt together pump, including the plate (18) to the elevator rods (2). Use existing screws (13) and lockwashers (14). Tighten to N m ( lb-ft). 4. Install the air motor (1) and the shims (3) under each of the three air motor feet, using the hex cap screws (4) and lockwashers (5). Do not tighten. Leave 1 / 32 -inch gap between the lockwashers (14) and the plate (18). 5. Install the coupling (12). Refer to your system manual for coupling installation information. 6. Align the air motor. Slowly stroke the pump two or three cycles. Shut off the air motor lockout valve in the middle of the stroke, then tighten the hex cap screws (4). Tighten to N m ( lb-ft). 7.
