2 WARP STORM Welcome to Battle Brothers an event where you and your most stalwart ally fight shoulder to shoulder against everything your opponents have to offer. This weekend is all about psychic powers, with a huge theme running towards casting them and their use in your games. Don t worry if your army can t normally take a Psyker; for this event, everyone can! More on that later, mind... You ll have lots to enjoy at this event; there will be fun games, fantastic armies on display, and a whole host of gloriously painted models to see all made better by the company of a good friend. Assemble your armies and make ready for a great weekend of relaxed gaming in a unique setting. WHAT IS BATTLE BROTHERS? This event is about enjoying great games in the presence of other enthusiastic entrants and their gorgeously-painted armies. The basic information you need is listed below, and any extra detail is further down this document. EVENT ESSENTIALS Date: 21st 22nd November 2015 Times: Saturday 9:00am 8:00pm, Sunday 9:00am 5:00pm (more detailed Schedule later) Team Size: Two players (one ticket covers entry for both players) Army Size: 800 points per player Number of games: 5 Army Selection: Battle Forged or Unbound (you choose see Choosing Your Army on p116 of Warhammer 40,000: The Rules) Scenarios in use: Maelstrom of War missions (randomly determined) Publications in use: All Warhammer 40,000 publications from Games Workshop, including Black Library, Forge World (excluding Horus Heresy publications) and White Dwarf. Additional: All miniatures in your collection must be Games Workshop Miniatures and be fully assembled, painted and based. Each model must fully represent, in full, what you have presented on your army list.

3 CERTUS MINOR Known as the World of the Dead, Certus Minor is an Adeptus Ministorum Cemetery World, located in the Praga sub-sector of the Segmentum Obscurus. It is here that a great many Imperial heroes have been laid to rest for hundreds of years, buried in the continent spanning Umberto II Memorial Mausoleum. It was the site of a mighty battle where the Adeptus Astartes of the Excoriators chapter sacrificed their 5th Company to stop the Cholercaust Blood Crusade from ravaging the planet; only the intervention of the mysterious Legion of the Damned saw victory swing towards the defenders. Now, some years later, Certus Minor is under attack again. Ygethmor, a powerful Sorcerer of the Black Legion and Lord Deceiver to Abaddon himself, has arrived on the planet and begun a ritual which will see the whole planet dragged into the Eye of Terror. Using billions of tortured souls of the dead still trapped on Certus Minor as sacrifice, he and his cabal of vile sorcerers aim to drag this symbol of Imperial Heroism into the very Warp itself. Zachariah Kersh, noble Chapter Master of the Excoriators, has launched a defence fleet, calling on all local Imperial forces and their allies to come to the aid of the planet, which, as it is gets closer to the Eye of Terror, begins to succumb to the Immaterium and the stuff of Chaos. He must stop the ritual now and save the planet before it is too late... Points don t carry over between players. Your two forces are selected totally separately of each other and interact on the gaming table using the allies matrix in Warhammer 40,000: The Rules. This means: Each player selects their own Warlord. Formations must be totally contained within one player s force. Formations cannot split across two player s forces. However, unique models and relics which are one per army may only taken once between the two players. Eg you can t take two Marneus Calgars in your team. All of the miniatures you bring must have been produced by Games Workshop and are fully assembled, painted and based. For the sake of clarity for your opponents, and to avoid mid-game confusion, we also require that each model represents exactly what it is on your army list (including all weapons and equipment). TACTICAL OBJECTIVES AT BATTLE BROTHERS When drawing Tactical Objectives, treat the team as one player in terms of how many cards can be drawn that game. For example, if you re playing The Spoils of War, each team draws three cards (between you) on the first turn. You may draw from two separate decks if you so wish. Eg- if the two players have Tau and Eldar, you may draw from their specific decks. In the example above, you could draw one Tau card and two Eldar cards. FACTIONS At the start of the weekend, you will be asked which Faction your team will fight for. The accursed forces of Lord Deciever Ygethmor or the noble defenders of Chapter Master Kersh? We will endeavour to have you fight members of the opposite faction for the duration of the weekend. To guarantee you fight for the Faction of your choice, make sure you register with us as early as you can (we may need to place later arrivals in a certain faction to make sure we have equal players on each side). THE WARP WHEEL To represent the randomness of the Warp, we will have a secret chart which we will roll on and display the results... whenever we see fit! It could be every half an hour... it could be five minutes after the last roll! Some results will be great, maybe seeing a certain psychic discipline become easier to manifest or teams get more Warp Charge... while others may be bad, perhaps making Perils of the Warp Tests more prevalent! Decide with each opposing team before the game begins whether you want to use the Warp Wheel effects in your game: it s up to you!

4 THE POWER OF THE WARP Captain Karch of the Sons of Guilliman 5th Co. looked about him. His marines appeared... different. A strange aura surrounded each man as they looked on at him, and a tingling feeling of building energy was building in his fingers. He looked towards the sky... the ever-nearing rift in Space was growing larger in the atmosphere and was somehow calling to him. The power of the Warp was with him and new and immeasurable power was his to control... As Certus Minor gets dragged into the Warp, it starts to affect your warriors in a strange way and normally mundane relics become imbued with psychic energy. Before the beginning of the event, both players on your team may select one Independent Character. This Independent Character is nominated as your Warpseer for the duration of the weekend and gains these abilities: Your Warpseer gains +2 Psychic Mastery Levels (up to a maximum of 3). If your Warpseer was already a Psyker, he has access to the standard disciplines he already had access to. If your Warpseer was not a Psyker before this upgrade, you may choose from either the Santic or Malefic powers of the Daemonology in Warhammer 40,000: The Rules (pages ) Remember both players in your team gain this upgrade. It must be obvious to your opponents which models have this upgrade. You could use a marker next to it, or even better, why not go to town and model your character casting Psychic powers? Don t forget to inform your opponents in each game which models in your team are your two Warpseers. WINNING THE EVENT: STOP THE RITUAL! This weekend tells the story of The Certus Minor Ritualcan the Excoriators and their allies stop Ygethmor and his allies dragging Certus Minor into the Warp? To do so, they must achieve psychic dominance over the forces of the vile sorcerer. At the end of each game, use your special Stop the Ritual! results cards to report how many psychic powers you successfully manifested in each game*. As the weekend goes on, we will keep a running total of the Factions and how many powers they have manifested, and keep you all up to date with who is in the lead. At the end of the event, the Faction which has manifested the most psychic powers over the course of the event will be declared the winners and the fate of Certus Minor will be decided. Psychic powers from any models in you army counts for this (including, of course, the indentured Psyker), so why not take a few more Psykers than usual? *successfully manifested: When the Psychic Test was passed and any Deny the Witch attempts to stop it were unsuccessful. If a power is stopped due to Deny the Witch, it is not successfully manifested. DESTROY THEM WITH THE POWER OF YOUR MIND... With all this Psychic energy being flung around this weekend, there s going to be some seriously destructive powers flying about. We want to hear any stories of enemy models destroyed directly by psychic powers; use the special record cards provided to note down what you killed. The team who manages the most destruction with a single psychic power will earn the Master Sorcerer s prize at the Award ceremony. Go on... give it a try...!

5 OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING THE EVENT LEGENDS PAINTING COMPETITIONS Legends gives you the chance to show off your skills with single models and units rather than with whole armies. Simply enter the relevant category when it s open; once all the entries are in, we will ask all the players to vote for their favourites. The player that earns the most votes in each category will earn the relevant award at the Award Ceremony. (Please note: only miniatures from your Battle Brothers forces may be entered into this competition). Hero of Legend: All types of Infantry, Cavalry, Bikes and Jetbikes. Beast of Legend: All types of Monsters, all types of Beasts, Swarms and all types of Monstrous Creatures. Engine of Legend: All vehicles, Warmachines, Chariots and Artillery. Company of Legend: Any unit of five or less Infantry or cavalry on 40mm bases or smaller, or three or less Cavalry, Bikes, Jetbikes or Infantry on 50mm bases or larger.
