Rules for terrain on the battlefield The missions being played and their scoring system And the bonus Painting Challenge!! Entry fee will be $10 and your list must be turned in at that time. Once your list is turned in there will be no alterations to it, unless the judge finds any issues. All lists must be 2000 points or less. Players must provide all tools and books required to play their army. (i.e. Codex, Rule book, Tactical Objective cards, tape measure, templates/ markers, dice, paper and pen. Current Codexes released before the event will be allowed but none on the day of. Any and all current FAQs will be used. If your army has any, be sure to bring a copy with you. All lists must be typed and printed. Hand written lists will not be accepted. Armies must be classified as either Battle forged or Unbound, and any/ all Command Benefits must be clearly notated on the list, including Formation special rules. Also be sure to clearly mark which units gain the benefit for those Model Representation Rules special rules. (i.e. Clearly mark which units in a Combined Arms Detachment have the Objective Secured special rules) Lords of War and Fortifications are allowed, including Stronghold Assault and Escalation Forge World models are not allowed, including models found in Escalation, and any/ all Forge world rules. The event will be 8 to 12 players max. Make sure to sign up asap! Spots are limited to first come first serve. Sign up is at the Highland Public Library. All models must be WYSIWYG. Any models that you want to use as a counts as this please present at the time of list entry to be judged. Models from 3rd party table top gaming will be allowed. Be sure to inform any judges of what 3rd party models you are using and what they represent in your army. Extra war gear like grenades and relics do not need to be represented on the model.

2 PAGE 2 Terrain on the Battlefield Each mission will use the same pieces of terrain to make the setup and breakdown of each game go as quickly as possible. Each table will have: x2 Ruined Buildings x2 Hills/ Creators x1 Impassible line of sight blocking Structure x1 River/ water hazard x2 Forests x1 Armor 14 Medium Intact Building. All Terrain will follow the normal and special rules found in the rule book on pg The building will follow all normal rules for intact buildings with the following special rule At any cost necessary : for the purpose of the game the building can ALWAYS be targeted for shooting and assault by both sides regardless of its occupants. Questions regarding what terrain is considered, please ask the judge. (Don t just assume.) Also, any terrain with a base or board extending from it, will have an area terrain affect. Each mission will have a 2 hour time limit. There will be 15 minutes between each round to set up. Please clean up during Mission set up and Scoring All missions will follow the same steps as Eternal War and Maelstrom of War missions respectively, i.e. The Battle Field, Deployment, First Turn, Game Length, Secondary Objectives, and Mission Special Rules. Each mission here will have its own Primary Objective, Objective Marker set up (Maelstrom Missions will be the same as the Rule Book,) and Deployment Zones. Each mission will have its own scoring system to determine a winner. Winning a mission awards you 3 Victory points (max). Draws awards you 2 Victory points. Losing awards you 1 Victory point. games to make transitions move smoothly. Parings and Scoring the Event Parings for the event will based on your score from your previous round. The first paring will be randomized. All points awarded will be tallied up at the end of the event and the player with the most points will be deemed the Champion of the Golden Rhino!! Points can be cashed in for raffle tickets to be used in the different prize pools.

3 PAGE 3 A carrying tray is recommended for your army but not required. Event Schedule This event will go 3 or 4 rounds depending on the player turn out. If we get 8 or less players the event will have 3 rounds. If we have 8 or more players it will be 4 rounds long. Time will be an issue in order to complete the event on time, so please be prepared. The Schedule will go as follows: 9:30a.m.: Doors open (set up, check lists and armies) 10: Round 1 starts 12: Round 1 ends (Dice Down, tally score for next parings.) 12:15: Round 2 starts 2:15: Round 2 ends Lunch from 2:15 2:45 Rules Conundrums 2:45: Round 3 starts 4:45: Round 3 ends 5: Round 4 starts 7: Round 4 ends 7-8pm: Painting Showcase, Awards and Prizes and clean up. If only 3 rounds are played, each round will be Two and a half hours long. It s a common fact that Warhammer 40,000 doesn't have the most air tight rules. On that note, during the event should any rules issues or conundrums come up, Feel free to ask the judge. While most people will think they know a rule, the event will be run to be as fun and exciting as possible. Should any arguing occur over the game or rules in question, the judge will interject to keep the game moving smoothly. If the arguing or bad behavior continues you will be warned. If the issue persists, you will be asked nicely to leave. Also Slow Play will be monitored So please remember the number 1 rule. Have fun!! Mission Play All missions will use Night Fighting, Reserves, and Mysterious Objectives. (Tactical Objectives will be used in mission 3.) Secondary Objectives, Slay the Warlord, First Blood, and Linebreaker will be used in all missions. For the purpose of this event, the player that deploys first has first turn unless their opponent can steal the initiative. When setting up terrain, players will roll-off to place the first piece, then alternate until all the terrain has been placed. Terrain must be 4 from all the board edges and 2 from each other. As a courtesy to the other player, please refrain from rolling any dice inside or against the building or other terrain during the games. Please roll all dice out in the open. Rolls should be away from as much terrain, other models, interfering objects and other dice as possible. This will make gameplay much more enjoyable for all players.

4 JULY 28TH PAGE 4 Mission 1: Command and Conquer After the placement of terrain but before Deployment, players will roll off to place 3 Objective markers (#2,#3,#4) anywhere within 24 of the center of the table. Dawn of War. After forces are Deployed but before Scouts and Infiltrators are placed, place 2 more Objective markers (#1,#6{#5 will not be used}) inside each others deployment zones, placed by your opponent. At the end of the game Objective markers #2,#3,#4 are worth 3pts each and #1,#6 are worth 5pts each. All Victory points will be cashed in for raffle tickets at the end of the event. So score big!! Mission 2: Recover the Standard Template Construct! Kill points are used in this mission as well as the Primary Objective. Hammer and Anvil. Primary Objective: Place one 2 Objective marker in the center of the field. It follows all the rules for The Relic (pg147brb) At the end of the game the STC is worth 9pts if it is held in your deployment zone, 6pts if in neither deployment zone, and 3 pts if in your opponents deployment zone. If the STC is not being held it has no points value. Mission 3: The Deadline Vanguard Strike. (measure 21 in on the long table edge and 14.5 in on the short table edge to find the No Mans Land) Tactical Objectives: Each player will generate 3 Tactical Objectives at the start of the game as a group, and each turn after. Primary Objective: Achieve as many Tactical Objectives as possible. (pg. 137 BRB) At the end of each players turn, after any discarding of objectives, any objectives left that are not completed are deducted from your total score. This cannot bring your total score below 0. You total score will be tallied at the end of the game. Should there be less than five minutes in the round before another player s turn begins, that player can opt to end the game without penalty during The Deadline mission.

5 Mission 4: Right Place at the Wrong Time. Place 6 Objective markers as per a Maelstrom Mission (this mission does not use Tactical Objectives). Deployment Zones will be generated randomly as a group. Primary Objective: At the end of the game, each Objective Marker is worth 3pts to the player controlling it. Special Rule: The Discovery (See text right.) When an Objective marker is first discovered, roll a D6. On a 4+ it is a true Objective marker. On a 2 or a 3 it is nothing and is then removed from the table. On a roll of a 1 it is a booby trap from the enemy and it explodes. All units within 3 suffer D6 Strength 5 AP4 Hits and then the objective is removed from the game. Once 3 Objectives have been removed or found to be true, the others are removed (without exploding) or deemed True respectively. Roll for Mysterious Objectives, re-roll #1 Sabotage results until another result is found. Painting Showcase (Optional) There will be a Show Case that you can display your army during the lunch break for Judging. Scoring in this mini event will contribute to your Victory points over all, but this is optional. In order to enter, your models must have at least 3 different colors. Basing is optional but you will receive points for having gone the extra mile. The over all Scoring will be on the following categories: #1. Overall Synergy. (does the army look complete and uniform?) #2. Quality of Painting. (Does the army look like it been through 75 different steps or like you pained it last night.?) #3. Basing. (Is the army based properly and all on uniform bases?) #4. Unique Conversions/ Additions. (Do your models have muzzle fire or extra armor on the tanks?) #5. Display Board. (Did you make a custom world for your army to be displayed on?) These categories will be scored on a 1 through 5 point scale. 1pt: Being you showed the minimum painting requirements 5pts: You clearly did the work on your army and it brings them to life on the battlefield.
