3 WARNING Read this document before installing or using Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinballtoppers Improper installation, improper use, may cause damage to both machine and topper. This document and other information from Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinballtoppers are to provide product installation guidelines and product usage options. It is the obligation of each user of Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinballtoppers to carefully read and understand this document and all other documentation, instructions and manuals supplied with Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinballtoppers and to determine the correct and safe methods of installation, operations and maintenance of Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinballtoppers, and the correct and safe conditions of use. KIT CONTENTS: Johnny Mnemonic Topper sign with flashers fully assembled. 1 Wire harness with connectors, and 2 screws to secure the topper down and 1 X 47 key remote. This would be everything needed for an install.

4 Installation 1. Place topper into desired position and secure using the 2 hex screws supplied. There are 2 anchor holes on the backside base. 2. Open the backbox and locate the hex screws holding the security screen in place at the upper top. Loosen the hex screws to allow you to run the double connecter (9 pin) end of the cable harness under the screen and out the back of the head.

5 3. Plug the harness that you pushed through the head rear vent into the topper. 4. Next you will need to remove the speaker grill. Simply lift it up and lay it face down where it is. You will not need to totally remove it. You just need access to the lower portion of the Power Driver board.

6 5. Locate the J118-4pin plug on the power driver board and unplug it.

7 6. Locate the shorter cable on the topper harness. It will look like the first picture below. It will have a 4 pin splitter harness on the end. Plug the end of the 4 pin into the J-118 connecter on the power driver board. WARNING! Make sure the orange cable is on the right side of the black cable as it shows in the second image below. 7. Now plug in the cable that was originally plugged into the power driver board into the extra plug that is now available from the harness.

8 8. Take the rest of the harness which will be a bit bulky and run it down through the right side of the head and into the lower body of the cabinet. DO NOT RUN down the center hole as it will be a potential hazard for the hand motor. Run it down the far right hole next to the tubing. Park the playfield in a have raised position and that will help it drop through easier. Remember to remove balls for further steps.

9 9. Re-assemble the speaker screen and backbox as we are finished in this area. Lift the playfield to locate the harness and pull it all through and lay is straight over the front edge of the cabinet to prepare for the final steps. 10. You will notice each harness end is numbered. Use the harness map on the next page to locate where each numbered harness will be routed to. The chart will help you identify your existing Johnny Mnemonic harness adaptors by wire color as well. After you locate the existing harness on the game you will need to disconnect it in order to insert your topper harness.

11 11. Double check to make sure you have the plug-ins all correct. If you are satisfied with your connections then we can move onto the final alligator connector clip. Locate the pop bumper flasher and connect the alligator clip to the Black/Brown wire as shown below. You can refer to the harness chart to help in locating the flasher as well. 12. You can now do a little cleanup work. You can insert the loose/slack wire into the wire holders that are already in use by the Johnny Mnemonic main harness to clean up the install a bit.

12 Job Complete: Test it out and enjoy the show! End Installation Usage Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinball Toppers is self activated and requires no direct interaction from the user. To activate the topper after installation you simply need to play your Johnny Mnemonic pinball machine and by hitting various shots the flashers will respond. The topper will self activate and run accordingly. Us the LED remote control provided to set the sign color and patterns to your desired choice. Remote Control Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinball Toppers provides you with a 44 key remote control to allow you to set various colors and patterns to the sign portion of your new topper. Please refer to the user manual in the remote control box for detailed instructions. Maintenance Johnny Mnemonic Topper Mod by Pinball Toppers uses a unique RGB light system that is not common to any pinball parts on the market at this time. Therefore, replacement of bulbs should not ever be needed. The remote control does use a battery that is located at the bottom of the remote when it is facing you. If loss of control happens be sure to check that the IR sensor is not hidden or the batteries are not dead.
