2 Play Tic-Tac-Snow Here is a quick two-person game that s easy enough for little kids yet offers enough strategy to be played over and over. What you ll need: Colored construction paper Permanent markers Cotton balls Pennies White craft glue Craft paint How to make it: 1. Draw the board shown on a piece of paper, marking a dot at each intersection (eight around the edges and one in the middle. 2. Give each player three matching game pieces (we used cotton balls glued to pennies and marked with dabs of paint). 3. As in tic-tac-toe, the object is to get three pieces in a row. 4. To begin, player one places a piece on any dot, then player two goes and they continue alternating until all the pieces are down. If no one lands three pieces in a row, on the next turn a player may slide his or her piece to the next dot, trying to make a row of three. Play continues until one person makes tic-tac-snow.

5 Pinecone Snowman This little snowman is ready to hit the slopes! This is a simple fun project for kids just leave extra time for painting. What you ll need: Pinecone White, light blue and black craft paint 1 brown chenille stem 1 piece of orange chenille stem 2 medium light blue pom-poms 2 piece of light blue felt 12 scrap fabric, cut to 1 width 2 medium white glittery pom-poms 2 toothpicks 2 jumbo craft sticks Snow texture Blue chenille stem White craft glue or hot glue gun Scissors

6 How to make it: 1. If you gather your pinecone from outside, make sure there are no bugs hiding inside. 2. Paint the pinecone with white paint. A second coat may be needed. Allow to dry completely. 3. While pinecone is drying, tie fabric strip around the top 1/3 of the pinecone as the scarf. Fringe the ends of the scarf by cutting thin strips with scissors. 4. Paint jumbo craft sticks with light blue paint and set aside to dry. 5. Glue blue felt strip to the top of the pinecone for the ear muff band. Glue the blue pom-poms to the ends of the felt strip. 6. Assemble ski poles by gluing white glitter pom-poms to the end of the two toothpicks. 7. Cut brown chenille into thirds. Set one piece aside for another project. Insert a brown chenille piece into the side of the pinecone for the arm and glue in place. Repeat on the other side. 8. Hold the ski pole up to the arm and once you have it where you want it, trim the end of the chenille to about ¾ away from the pole. Wrap the end of the chenille arm around the pole and add a dab of glue to hold in place. 9. Glue the pinecone to the jumbo craft stick skis. Paint the craft sticks with a bit of blue glitter glue. Dab on some snow texture to the skis. 10. Dot on two eyes with black paint using the handle end of the paintbrush. Glue the orange chenille piece in as the nose.

What you ll need: Toilet paper roll (one for each cracker) Tissue paper Ribbon or yarn Stickers or other embellishments Tape Something to put inside the crackers How to make it: 1. Put a small trinket or special note inside your toilet paper roll. Cut the tissue paper so that you ll have lots of excess on either end of the toilet paper roll. We used two colors of tissue paper just to make the ends more colorful! 2. Roll the tissue paper around the toilet paper roll. Tape to secure. 3. Gather your tissue paper at either end of the toilet paper roll and tie a ribbon or piece of yarn around. Cut the tissue paper ends into fringe. 4. Decorate your crackers with stickers or any other embellishments you have.
