2 Handprint Heart Paint, paintbrush Wet washcloth Empty pie plates Paper Pencil Scissors Directions 1. Cut out a heart shape from paper. 2. Put different colours of paint in pie plates. 3. Depending on whether your child likes the feeling of paint, either place your child s hand in a colour of paint and place it on the heart. Alternatively, brush paint onto your child s hand and place the hand on the heart. 4. Continue doing this, placing the hand in different directions for an added effect.

3 I Love You Card A symbolic way to say "I love you in sign language. Trace around your child s hand on light brown construction paper and cut it out. 2. Cut a large white heart with scissors (scallop scissors if possible) 3. Cut a smaller heart from the red construction paper. 4. Let your child glue the red heart on top of the white heart and then glue the palm part of the hand onto the red heart. 5. Bend the middle and ring finger and fold under to form the basic I love you sign. 6. Cut a smaller heart and have your child glue this onto the palm of the hand. 7. Write I love you on the small heart.

Write a number from 1 to 5 on each of the hearts on the right hand side of the heart. 3. Cut out smaller hearts from pink construction paper. 4. Let children try to find the matching halves to start and then place the corresponding number of hearts to the number on the heart.

Give your child a sheet of white construction paper and have him fold it in half. 2. Help your child make a bow with the ribbon and have him glue it just below the middle of the card. 3. Cut small hearts out of construction paper and have your child glue them above the ribbon. Heart stickers can be used as well. 4. Using markers, your child can then draw stems under the ribbon.

Cut one heart out of the paper plate and the plastic sheet. 2. Punch holes along the outer edges of both the plate and the plastic sheet. 3. Cut two pieces of yarn 24 in length. 4. Wrap a small piece of tape at the end of the yarn so it is easier to thread through the holes. 5. Lay the plastic on top of the paper heart and start lacing them together, starting at the bottom of the heart. Don t lace all the way around just yet. 6. Write I Love You on a small construction paper heart and insert it between the paper and plastic heart. Then place some candy or chocolate inside as well. 7. Finish lacing the heart and tie it into a bow at the top of the heart.

Give your child a black sheet of construction paper for the base of the card. 2. Have him cut strips of construction paper from the coloured construction paper. 3. Then take one strip and fold it in half. 4. Your child can then roll the strip of paper from the outside edge towards the fold in the middle. Do this on the other side of the strip as well. Alternative, your child can roll the strip around a pencil. 5. Loosen the curl a bit and glue the heart down so that the curled edges stay upright.
