Reading Activity (Compulsory for All) ( Do it on A4-size sheet ) Books are our best friends and reading is fun. Read any one book from the suggested list given below: 1. Tiger on a Tree by Anushka Ravi Shankar. 2. The Holy Tulasi by Kaushik Kumar. 3. The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. Complete the information after you have read the book- 1. Name of the book. 2. Name of the author. 3. Name the main characters of the story. 4. What did you like the best in the story? Write a short paragraph on it. Roll No Talk to your grandparents about the environment they used to have in their own time. Go down the memory lane with them. Visualize the scenery of that time and pour your thoughts on an A4 size sheet. (Draw a picture and write a short paragraph on it) Roll No Complete the following conversation on an A4 size sheet. 3 SUBJECT: MATHS 1. TREES IN PICTOGRAPH (Roll no. 1 to 17) Visit your neighbourhood and observe different types of trees (minimum 5 types) and count their number. On the basis of that data prepare a pictograph on an A-4 size sheet. Reference: Chapter- 15 Data Handling. 2. ABACUS OF TREES (Roll no. 18 till last) Find the number of 5 medicinal trees found in India only. On the basis of that information prepare a model on abacus. Reference: - Collect information from internet. 3. TREES IN SNAKES & LADDERS (For all students) Prepare Snakes & ladders game on an A-4 size sheet. Use numbers till 50 only. Use pictures of axe in place of snakes and trees in place of ladders. SUBJECT: SCIENCE SOW SEEDLINGS!!! YOUR LUNGS, WILL LOVE IT Activity-1 (Roll No- 1 to 18) To catch a glimpse of water and nutrient transportation inside a tree Materials Required: i. a glass of water ii. a stalk of leaf iii. food colour Procedure: i. Fill a glass of water, and add a few drops of dark food colour. ii. Cut a stalk of leaf, place it in the water(put cut side down in water). Wait for some time. iii. What do you observe? Paste the photo and write the observation of the respective leaf on an A-4 size sheet. Activity-2(Roll No-19 to 35)

4 Leaves are known as the food factory of the plant because they prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis. Prepare a model to show the process of photosynthesis. Materials required: i. Thermacol sheet ii. Cut-outs of a plant, sun etc. iii. Colors, sketch pens iv. Fevicol and scissors Activity-3( Roll No-1-36) Trees play a very vital role in the purification of air and hence environment. Collect the information and make a project about various plants/ trees that help in purifying the air. For example tulsi, garden mum etc. Collect the pictures of at least 5 such plants/trees and write information about the respective plant/trees.(in a scrap file). SUBJECT - SOCIAL STUDIES Q1,Q2 and Q3 are compulsory for the whole class. Q4 and Q5 are according to the roll number.

Special kinds of trees are also planted to make (erpap) Q2)SAVING THE TINY SEED- Trees are important for our life. Help to save this tiny seed grow into a big tree by solving this worksheet. Carefully see the pictures and colour them appropriately. Draw the pictures in the correct sections. Rewrite the slogan From a small seed, a mighty tree may grow in the space given below with coloured pens.

6 GREEN EARTH SUDOKU Q3)Be an Earthzine and solve the Green Earth Sudoku by balancing the elements of the environment. Draw and colour the symbols in such a way that each row, each column and each of the large four squares should have one of the each symbol. (For Roll No:1-17)

7 Q4 )Find out how many trees are there in your neighbourhood. Who looks after them. Does anyone harm them in any way? Collect the information in a five rupee notebook so that you can share it with the class when the school reopens and talk about what can be done to protect the trees. Think and note down the items which are made of trees used by you in day to day life that can be recycled.
