Adoption of Agenda 2. Member Comment Period (opportunity for any of our members present to comment)- a. MABA region approaching organizers for NEBS ToY? Jared has a TOY question consideration for any state to count for NEBS team of the year. Chris stated that there is no restrictions. Jared asked if solicitations are done outside of the area. Tony states yes. Jared asked who is being solicited and why? Tony made a list and contacted them about asking to list of about 16 contests that were contacted. Jared has a concern that are not that many that are branching out. Only a few teams are going to be there and it effect scoring overall. Chris and Tony stated that contests are less than there were in the past. Branching out gave more of a chance to get your numbers in for TOY. Jared states we are Northeast BBQ Society and organizers are asking why we do we have pay for $50 for NEBS who approached us: Chris clarified that many teams are members are of NEBS or out of area MABA. Kim brings up a point that we may be more of a negative and be diligent and respectful plus an outlined criteria. Focus on Northeast is fine. But focus out of the state need to be all of the state. Tony clarified organizer Sandy Fulton who does areas that overlap. Tom is outlined Classic, Tailgate and Grilling. Kim asks for clarification that KCBS was solicited Tony confirmed that was the case. Kim and Tony agree with grilling explanation is great but NEBS can t staff it at this time. Chris outlined again a few times that are over both can help with expansion. Jared wants a more clarified outline and wants to make sure all are accounted for. MABA idea from Jared no listing fee, they count them all for TOY and approved and count KCBS for their TOY Program he understands that the listing fee is gone but it counts them all. All contest count for toy no listing and with NEBS having less of a numbers of contests. Chris review past history of this conversation but may be an appropriate to rethink and how things are listed. Other than Atlantic City nothing has been listed out of the Northeast area. Chris doesn't think Sandy is going to list. Kim want to review the list that were contacted and make sure that if we hit outside state it is fair and the whole states. We don t want to have a bad face of the NEBS and talk to someone at MABA and talk to them and outline what we would like to do.. Chris wants to make sure we are not we are not geographically bound. The difference between NEBS (New England and Northeast) Jared wants to know if TOY had been outlined differently or rewritten. Open discussion to why it there are less contests. NEBS helps promote. Kim reviewed not holding I to New England teams but review the list and make sure it is the whole state. Not just a handful of contests. 3.
