2 LEVEL SGM LEKTRA produces level measurement instruments for industrial applications and for environmental monitoring. These instruments are divided into two groups: Measurement - Numeric and percentage of detected level. Control - Detecting the presence or absence of product in a predetermined point (on-off level). 9 The capacitive principle for continuous level measurement is one of the most widely used for industrial applications. Thanks of its fl exibility it can be applied to measurements of liquids, solids, granules and powders. The operation is based on the detection of the capacity of the insulation interposed between the electrode and the material to be measured. The instrument can be compact (electrode and insert) in a single unit or separate with a remote insert for applications where there are high process temperatures, high vibration levels or where it is impractical to use a compact version. The electrode type choosen determines the unit model (CLT4, CLT5, CLT7, CLT8). 12 LIVELLI Ultrasonic is a contact-less technology for level measurement applications. The sensor emits short ultrasonic pulses which are reflected from the product surface and captured by the same sensor. The distance to the product surface is obtained with the exact measurement of the time between pulse emission and echo reception, and consequently the level measurement. A internal digital temperature sensor corrects the measurement as a function of air temperature. Our ultrasonic level transmitters are suitable for measurements of liquids and granules, for distance up to 12 m. 25 This is a very reliable method of liquid level measurement. In practice, the sensors measure the pressure of the column of liquid above the point of measurement.
