2 BACKGROUND SIRIM BERHAD, MALAYSIA SIRIM (Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia) was established in 1975 under the SIRIM (Incorporation) Act 157 under Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. As of 16 November 1995 SIRIM was corporatised as a government-owned company under the Minister of Finance Incorporated and was fully operationalised on 1 September 1996, later known as SIRIM Berhad.

15 STEERING OF THE NATIONAL FREQUENCY STANDARD Steering of the NFS or the epoch UTC(NMLS) is done by Caesium Reference Clock 5071A steering function to maintain the timing accuracy of the 1 pps signal to be within 1 s of the UTC and removal of the daily frequency offset, as determined from the Circular-T data.

20 TIME DISSEMINATION Existing NTP : One unit Symmetricom S100 NTP New NTP : Two unit Gorgy Timing LEDI Network ITS.V2 Upgrading and testing the firmware for the following features : Add-on features of alert and NTP watcher for monitoring closely the synchronization status of the registered NTP clients. Shows the MAC address, IP address, time and number of requests of registered NTP clients requesting synchronization Alarm alert can be activated for each of registered NTP client for detecting no clients time synchronization request.
