When working power is in abnormal, the working power will be cut off after setting delay time t1. Then the standby power works automatically after delay time t2. When the working power returns to normal condition, the power is still supplied by standby power until the standby power is in abnormal condition. In such condition, the standby power will be cut off after setting delay time t1, then the working power works automatically after delay time t2. The functions of selfthrowingnonself controller are shown in Table 4. Opearting Procedure of Intelligent Controller Table 3: Function of selfthrowingnonselfrestoring controller The intelligent controller keep testing threephase voltage of working power and standby power, compare the defected results with Controlling Functions the setting values, judge the voltage above 5% Ue as overvoltage, the voltage below 60%85%Ue(adjustable) as undervoltage. Once the voltage is judged as in fault condition, the intelligent controller will deliver OFF/ON command to motorized operating mechanism Power from working power: Q N ON, Q R OFF by command relay based on preset delay program. At the same time, the indicators on faceplate display above said detected results. Q NOFF after delay time t1, then Q RON afer delay time t2. Power from standby power. Working Mode Returns to normal Power still from standby power. The ATS has two working modes: manual working mode and automatic working mode. Q OFF after delay time t1, then Q ON after delay time t2. Power from working power again. N R There are three working status of ATS: Working power worksbreak standby power, make working power; Standby power worksbreak working power, make standby power; Power cuttwo breakers are both in OFF position. Automatic working mode: The ATS can automatically switch based on power condition. Under automatic working mode, the ATS can be divided into three versions by controlling function, selfthrowingselfrestoring(r), selfthrowingnonselfrestoring(s) and gridgenerator (F). The first two versions are suitable for gridtogrid power system, the last version is suitable for gridtogenerator power system. Manual working mode: Press standby button, breaker of working power is open and breaker of standby power is closed. Press working button, breaker of standby power is open and breaker of working power is closed. Press reset button, both two breakers are open. If one of breakers trips, pressing reset button will make it reset. Gridgenerator Controller (F) Intelligent controller monitors working power and standby power, implement switching automatically. When the working power is in abnormal condition, Power generation command will be sent out after delay time. When the voltage of selfcondtioned generator is up to 85% of rated voltage Ue, the breaker of working power will be out off. Meanwhile, Unloading command will be sent out to unload the minor loads. Power will turn to be supplied by generator automatically after proper delay time. After the working power returns to normal condition, the system cuts off generator power, returns to the working power for power supply, and sends out command signal to stop the generator. The functions of gridgenerator controller are shown in Table 4. When both two powers is in normal, power is supplied by working power. When working power is in abnormal (overvoltage, undervoltage, phase default), after the setting delay time t1, the working power will be cut off. Then after setting delay time t2, the standby power works automatically. During this period, common auxiliary terminal will be open and standby auxiliary terminal will be closed. When the working power returns to normal condition, after the setting delay time T1, the standby power will be cut off. Then after setting delay time T2, the working power turn back to work. When the working power supplies power normally but standby power is in abnormal condition, the LED indicator of standby power on contralling faceplate will indicates according to fault type and send out alarming contact signal. The functions of selfthrowingselfrestoring controller are shown in Table 2. The features are as following: Reliable double protections of mechanical interlock and electrical interlock between two circuit breakers. Automatic transfer switching function with undervoltage protection and phase failure protection. Delay parameters can be set from extemal. Small size and convenience usage. 7 Main Structure and Operating Principle Wiring Schematic of Subcircuit The main structure of ATS is composed of controller, mechanical interlock machine and two miniature circuit breakers. The controller keep testing the operating status of the two power suppliers and send out signal to the electromotor according to demands. The electromotor drives the mechanical interlock machine to operate the two circuit breakers. There are indications of working status of the two power suppliers and the loads status of the two circuit breakers on the faceplate. All the parts are installed in a metal plate. There is a terminal to connect the indications on the faceplate to the panel of electrical controlling box. So it is convenient for the customers to observe the operating status of the ATS. When working power is normal and the function key is on Automatic, circuit breaker for standby power is open and circuit breaker for working power is closed to ensure the working power supplies the loads. When the voltage of working power drops below 70% Ue, the working power is cut off after setting delay time and the standby power is used (when it is normal). And when the working power returns to normal, the standby power is cut off and return to the working power for power supply after delay time. When there is voltage failure on any one or all three phases of working power, working power will be transferred switching to standby power immediately. When the working power returns to normal, the standby power is cut off and returns to the working power for power supply after delay time. Operating Principle of Controller Controller tests three phases voltages of working power and L1 phase voltage of standby power at the same time. It judges the voltage below 70%Ue as undervoltage and transfer switching. The status of ATS is indicated by four LEDs on the case. The cymbiform switch on the case of controller is used for the transferred switching between autormatically and manually. Two resistance potentimeter (Tn, Tr) are used to adjust the delay time. Tn is for switching delay time and Tr is for return delay time. In the normal status, the power is supplied by working power. When there is undervoltage of any one phase of the working power, the power is transferred to be supplied by the standby power after setting delay time. When the working power returns to normal, the standby power will be cut off and retum to the working power for power supply after setting delay time. When there is voltage failure on any one or all three phases of working power, working power will be transferred switching to standby power immediately. When the working power returns to normal, the standby power will be cut off and returns to the working power for power supply after delay time.
