Whnvr th Satllit Rcivr is squlchd, a 1950 Hz ton from th Ton/ Audio Panl is applid to th Voting Slctor through th audio pair. Whn th rcivr is unsqulchd, th 1950 Hz ton is rmovd an6 th rcivr audio is applid to th Voting Slctor. Two Ton/Audio Panls ar availabl. Th 19D panl is usd with Gnral Elctric MASTR Local Control, Rmot Control, Rpatr and Rmot/Rpatr stations. Th 19D panl contains its own 120 VAC Powr Supply and may b usd with any Satllit Rcivr which is quippd with a Carrir Opratd Rlay (COR) or Carrir Opratd Switch (COS) function. Th 19D (Option 7692) Ton/ Audio Panl is dsignd for mounting in a 19-inch rack. No harnss is supplid with this panl for intrconnction with th Satllit Rcivr. CIRCUIT ANALYSIS Th circuitry of th Ton/Audio Panls consist of a ton oscillator, amplifirs, ton gating circuits, an mittr-followr and a lin drivr. Th +10 Volts rquird f 01- oprating th 19D panl circuitry is takn from th EP-38-A or EP-39-A Powr Supply. Applying powr to th TonIAudio board (A2) starts oscillator Q1. Fdback for th oscillator is supplid through C2. Th oscillator output is coupld through T1 to th bas of amplifir Q2. Potntiomtr R7 in th mittr of Q2 is usd to st th ton output lvl applid to th audio pair. Instructions for stting R7 ar containd in th Satllit Rcivr Adjustmnt Procdur. Whn th rcivr is squlchd (no COR or COS voltag), th output of Q3 is applid to mittr-followr Q4 and lin drivr Q5. Th lin drivr output is coupld through th 600-ohm lin matching transformr T2 to Whn th rcivr is unsqulchd, th COS voltag is applid to th bas of Q8 through R24-C16 and R32. Q8 is turnd on, turning off Q9. Turning off Q9 turns on ton gat Q6 and Q7. Conduction of Q7 shunts th ton to ground. Th rcivr audio is coupld through capacitors C10 and C18 and through transformr T2 to th audio pair. Q8 and Q9 provid a slow-to-oprat and fast rlas switching function for th ton gat. Th turn-on voltag for Q6 is slowd by th charging of C17 in th collctor of Q9. This guarants that th voting rcivr is providing full audio output bfor th ton is gatd off. Whn th i-civr squlchs, capacitor C16 dischargs and oprats th switch quickly to allow th squlch tail from th rcivr to mash th ton burst. Diods CR1 and CR2 and Znr diod VR1 protct th ton/audio circuitry from lin surgs. Th Powr Supply (A3) providd with th 19D panl consists of powr transformr T1, full-wav bridg rctifir CR1- CR4 and th 10 VDC rgulator circuit. Placing th OFF-ON switch S1 in th ON position applis 117 Volts AC to th primary of T1. Th primary is fusd by F1. Th AC is rctifid by CR1-CR4, filtrd by C2 and applid to th rgulator Q1 and VR1. Th rgulatd +10 VDC is applid to th ton/audio circuits. Diod CR5 is normally back biasd but, if th supply voltag fails, th diod w i l l bcom forward biasd and an auxiliary battry connctd to TB1-10 will b automatically substitutd for th powr sourc. Whn th supply voltag is rstord, th diod is again rvrs-biasd. This automatically disconncts th battry. MAINTENANCE Th Ton/Audio Panl should rquir a minimum of maintnanc. If srvic is rquird, rfr to th DC voltag radings on th Schmatic Diagram.
