6 i j - HOW TO REDUCE THE LONG RANGE DETECTION AREA To djust the LONG rne of detection, set the upper nd lower flps s follows: Upper flp C Flp fix position indictor b d h Lower flp 1 Pull out the flp. Note>> If the lower flp is locted t the fctory defult position, slide it out with your thumb. 10 3 INSTALLATION Use the brcket for norml instlltion. The unit my be instlled directly on the wll, without the brcket, only if the followin three conditions re met; The mountin heiht is less thn 3m (9'10"). Horizontl djustment is not necessry. The round must be level. 3-1 INSTALLING WITH BRACKET Usin the brcket mkes it possible to djust the unit horizontlly by ±90. In cses where the round is uneven nd/or not prllel with the bse of the unit, it is possible to djust the unit verticlly by ±0. Cution>> Do not chne the detection lenth with brcket. Use the flps nd pltes to djust the detection lenth Remove the Up-Down lock screw. Push the shft cover clip strihtly to remove the shft cover. Shft cover clip Shft cover Push with suitble tool. e.. smll screwdriver 3 Loosen the djustment screw two turns. 4 Tilt the brcket bout 45 nd pss throuh the wire. Adjustment screw Cution>> Do not loosen the screw too much. It my disssemble. In Out

11 5 Determine the horizontl direction (left or riht) of the detector before instllin the brcket on the wll. To the riht To the left 6 Open the wirin knockout. Wirin knockout 7 Open the Up-Down lock screw knockout for connectin the brcket. 8 Tihten screws 1 nd, djust the brcket nle (refer to 3-), then tihten screw 3. Perform n re check. If re-djustment is required, loosen screw 3 nd chne the brcket nle. After the djustment is complete, tihten screw 3 in. 12 3- ADJUSTING THE VERTICAL ANGLE For best performnce, instll detector prllel to the round. Decide the detection lenth. To chne the detection lenth, djust the flp nd plte positions. Refer to the -, -3 for the detils. Perform wlk test to ensure detector is prllel to the round. 3.0 m (9'10") 4.0 m (80') * This description ssumes the detection lenth to be 0 m (0') to 4.0 m (80'). If the detection lenth is shorter thn tht which ws setup (refer to pe 7), chne the detector nle upwrds. If the detection lenth is loner thn tht which ws setup (refer to pe 7), chne the detector nle downwrds. If the detection lenth is equl to tht which ws setup (refer to pe 7), the djustment is complete. Cution>> If the bse of the unit is lredy prllel to the round, do not chne the detection lenth by tiltin the min unit up or down. Refer to 3-1 for the detils. Exmple (the round is level) 0 is the oriine. Adjust clicks (.5 upwrd) for.5 m (8'") heiht instlltion. Adjust 1 click (1.5 upwrd) for 3.0 m (9'10") heiht instlltion. 3-3 INSTALLING WITHOUT BRACKET 1 Open the wirin knockout with suitble tool e.. screwdriver. Pull the wire throuh the bse knockout. 14 3-5 WALL TAMPER (OPTION) Universl mnet switch my be mounted s wll tmper. Instlltion spce for mnet switch is provided on the bck of the min unit nd the brcket. Mximum size of n pplicble mnet switch: D 9 mm (0.35") W 40 mm (1.57") H 9 mm (0.35") Mnet switch is not included. 15 3 Instll the other portion of the mnet switch to the bck of the min unit or the brcket. Pull the wirin throuh the knockouts. 16 4 WALK TEST 1 Set the DIP switch 1 (LED ON/OFF) to ON. Check tht the detector detects n object in the intended detection re. The instlltion hs been successful if the LED lihts for two seconds fter person wlks into the detection re. Detected Not detected Note>> The switch is set ON by fctory defult. The LED does not liht even if someone is detected. -IMMUNITY DIP switch HX-80N HX-80NAM STD IMMUNITY POSITION STD (Fctory defult) IMMUNITY FUNCTION IMMUNITY loic is not ctivted. IMMUNITY loic is ctivted. Use this under hrsh environment (e.. veettion swy). HX-80N -AUX INPUT DIP switch 3 HX-80NAM By connectin secondry unit (nother wrnin sensor), you cn extend the detection re nd correct flse lrms. The secondry unit must hve volte free N.C. output such s nother PIR detector or AIR detector. <Infrred (AIR) sensors, therml line (PIR) sensors, mnet switches, etc.> AND OR Notes>> The lrm is only ctivtes if both the min unit nd the secondry unit re ctivted within 60 sec. In OR mode, secondry detector must be fitted. If not fitted, the unit will enerte n lrm continuously. POSITION AND (Fctory defult) OR FUNCTION When both the min unit nd the secondry detect someone, the lrm is ctivted. Choose this settin when secondry unit is not connected. When either the min unit or the secondry detects someone, the lrm is ctivted. -PIR AND/OR DIP switch 4 HX-80N HX-80NAM AND OR Note>> OR mode is pproprite for the sites tht require more detectbility rther thn flse lrm tolernce such s lihtin control nd cmer ctivtion.
