Split into five fmilies, this rnge meets ll the needs encountered in industril, commercil nd residentil pplictions. Whether they re single-phse or 3-phse, electronic switch mode or conventionl type with rectifier, they provide qulity of output current which is suitble for the lods supplied nd comptible with the mins supply vilble in the equipment. Cler guidelines re given on selecting protection devices which re often used with them, nd thus comprehensive solution is provided which cn be used in totl sfety. Phseo switch mode supplies Switch mode power supplies re totlly electronic nd regulted. The use of electronics mkes it possible to significntly improve the performnce of these power supplies, which offer: - compct size, - integrted overlod, short-circuit, overvoltge nd undervoltge protection, - very wide rnge of permitted input voltges, without ny djustment, - high degree of output voltge stbility, - good performnce, - considerbly reduced weight. Phseo power supplies re vilble in single-phse nd 3-phse versions. They supply voltge which is precise to 3%, whtever the lod nd whtever the type of mins supply, within rnge of 85 to 364 V for single-phse, or 360 to 55 for 3-phse. Conforming to IEC stndrds nd UL nd CSA pproved, they re suitble for universl use. The inclusion of overlod nd short-circuit protection mkes downstrem protection unnecessry if discrimintion is not required. In ccordnce with IEC 63-2, the products re lso equipped with n output undervoltge control which cuses the product to trip if the output voltge drops below 9 V. This is in order to ensure tht the voltge supplied is lwys usble by the ctutors being supplied. All the products re fitted with n output voltge djustment potentiometer (in the rnge 24 to 28.8 V) in order to be ble to compenste for ny line voltge drops in instlltions with long cble runs. These power supplies re designed for direct mounting on 35 mm nd 75 mm " rils. These power supplies re vilble in single-phse nd 3-phse versions nd re split into three fmilies: i The ABL-7RE fmily includes products tht re excellent for typiclly industril pplictions. They re extremely compct nd very esy to instll, s well s being ttrctively priced. i The ABL-7RP fmily of products is more generl-purpose. These supplies re fitted with n input filter (PFC) which enbles them to be used in commercil nd residentil environments (conforming to stndrd IEC ). In ddition, they offer two operting modes for deling with overlods nd short-circuits: - AUTO mode which ensures utomtic restrting of the supply s soon s the fult is clered; - MANU mode which requires the supply to be reset before restrting is possible. Resetting is chieved by switching off the mins supply (on the product). i The ABL-7RU fmily, for use on 3-phse mins supplies, is designed for pplictions tht include high consumption lods. They cn supply up to 960 W, in both industril nd commercil environments. Filtered rectified power supplies Filtered rectified power supplies re built using sfety trnsformer fitted with bridge rectifier nd filter cpcitors. With no regultion system, of simple nd rugged construction, their output voltge will withstnd mins voltge vritions nd lod vritions while remining within the rnge defined in stndrds IEC They re prticulrly suitble for pplictions with high current inrush. These supplies re split into two fmilies: i The single-phse filtered rectified ABL-6RF fmily is suitble for connection to Europen 230/40 nd Americn 20/ 24 single-phse supplies. An optionl mounting plte for mounting on " ril, simplifies their instlltion. i The 3-phse filtered rectified ABL-6RT fmily is prticulrly suitble where high power level is required for ctutors nd prectutors. Using PELV is mesure designed to protect people from direct nd indirect contct. Mesures relting to these instlltions re defined in publiction NFC 2-20 nd in stndrd IEC i The ppliction of these mesures to the electricl equipment in mchines is defined in stndrd NF EN nd requires : - tht the voltge used is below 6 d.c. in dry environments nd below 3 in dmp environments. - the connection of one side of the PELV circuit, or one point of the source, to the equipotentil protection circuit ssocited with higher voltges. - the usge of switchger nd control ger on which mesures hve been tken to ensure "sfety seprtion" between power circuits nd control circuits. i A sfety seprtion is necessry between power circuits nd control circuits in PELV circuits. Its im is to wrn of the ppernce of dngerous voltges in 24 V sfety circuits. i The reference stndrds involved re : - IEC 60742, EN 60742, DIN/VDE 055 T (sfety trnsformers). - IEC (coordintion of isoltion). Telemecnique power supplies meet these requirements. i Moreover, to ensure tht these products will operte correctly in reltion to the demnds of the reinforced isoltion, it is recommended tht the products be mounted nd wired s indicted below : - they should be plced on n erthed mounting plte or ril, - they should be connected using flexible cbles, with mximum of two wires per connection, nd tightening to nominl torque, - conductors of the correct insultion clss must be used. i If the d.c. circuit is not connected to n equipotentil protection conductor, n erth lekge detector will indicte ny ccidentl insultion fults (). Operting voltge i The cceptble tolernces for the operting voltge re listed in publictions IEC 63-2 nd DIN i For nominl voltge Un = 24 V, the extreme operting vlues re from - 5 % to 20 % of Un, whtever the supply vritions my be in the rnge - 0 % to 6 % (defined by stndrd IEC 6038) nd lod vritions in the rnge In 0-00%. Consequently the vlues re s follows : - mximum voltge (pek) : 3 - nominl voltge : 24 V - minimum voltge (pek) : 9.2 V All Telemecnique 24 V supplies hve been designed to provide voltge within this rnge. i It my be necessry to use voltge mesurement rely to detect when the norml voltge limits re being surpssed nd to del with the consequences of this (). An initil selection cn be mde using the tble below. This my however result in severl products being selected s suitble. Other selection criteri must therefore be tken into ccount. i The qulity of the mins power supply Filtered rectified power supplies provide non-regulted voltge, sensitive to lod nd mins power supply fluctutions. They cn only be used where good qulity mins supply is vilble, with fluctutions limited to -0%...0% of the nominl vlue. Grphs showing the output voltge s function of the rted current of the lod nd the input voltge for ABL-6RF nd ABL-6RT supplies re given on pge /. If the qulity of the mins supply is not suitble for rectified power supply, regulted supply must be used. The Phseo rnge is the solution becuse it gurntees precision to 3% on the output voltge, whtever the lod current nd the input voltge. In ddition, the wide input voltge rnge of Phseo power supplies llows them to be connected to ll mins supplies within the nominl rnge, without ny djustment. The Phseo RP fmily cn lso be connected to 0 nd 22 emergency supplies. i Hrmonic pollution (power fctor) The current drwn by power supply is not sinusoidl. This leds to the existence of hrmonic currents which pollute the mins supply. Europen stndrd EN limits the hrmonic currents produced by power supplies. This stndrd covers ll devices of more thn 75 W, drwing up to 6 A per phse, nd connected directly to the public mins power supply. Devices connected downstrem of privte, low voltge, generl trnsformer re therefore excluded. By design, rectified power supplies produce very little hrmonic current nd cn therefore be used on the public mins supply. However, switch mode supplies produce much more hrmonic current nd filter circuit (Power Fctor Correction or PFC) must therefore be dded to comply with stndrd EN Power supplies ABL-6RF, ABL-6RT nd Phseo ABL-7RP nd ABL-7RU conform to stndrd EN nd cn therefore be connected directly to public mins power supplies. i Behviour in the event of short-circuits In the event of n overlod or short-circuit, rectified power supplies must be protected by n upstrem fuse or circuit breker to prevent their destruction. Models ABL-6RF240, ABL-6RF2402 nd ABL-6RF2405 re fitted, s stndrd, with 5 mm x 20 mm glss fuse. Phseo power supplies, on the other hnd, re fitted with electronic protection. This protection utomticlly resets s soon s the fult is clered, so voiding the need to tke ction or replce fuse. In ddition, with the Phseo RP rnge, the user cn select the reset method in the event of fult: - in the "AUTO" position, resetting is utomtic, - in the "MANU" position, resetting will tke plce fter the fult hs been clered nd fter the mins power hs been switched off nd bck on (on the power supply). A temperture which is too high round the electronic components significntly reduces their life. However, if the mbient temperture remins lrgely below the rted operting temperture, then power supply cn deliver more thn its nominl power. The rted mbient temperture for Phseo power supplies is 50 C. Below this, n increse in rting is possible up to 20% of the nominl power. Above 50 C, derting is necessry up to mximum temperture of 60 C. The grph below shows the power (in reltion to the nominl power) which the power supply unit cn deliver continuously, ccording to the mbient temperture.
