1 Street Eagle Integra on with PestPac Street Eagle integra on within PestPac allows you easily to track where all of your vehicles are, review scheduled stops for the day for all of your technicians and run reports based on data collected from the GPS unit on your vehicles. All vehicle informa on is displayed in real me and is updated by Street Eagle every 10 seconds or less. Contract Street Eagle Sales To begin, contact the sales department at Street Eagle. Their toll free number is Be sure to men on that you are a PestPac customer. They can give you informa on on the GPS unit that they have available and set you up with a username and password. Once your account is set up, give your Street Eagle username and password informa on to your sales representa ve so that it can be entered for you in PestPac. Ac vate your GPS Units with Street Eagle Once you have the units, you will need to ac vate them by contac ng Street Eagle. Install GPS Units on Vehicles Street Eagle can recommend installers in your area to install their GPS units on your vehicles. You can also perform the work yourself by following the instruc ons that come with the devices (although Street Eagle does not recommend this unless you are well versed in 12-volt installa ons.) If you purchase a package with advanced features such as vehicle security alert, remote door unlock or vehicle immobiliza on, a professional installa on is required. Each device come with its own serial number. Be sure to keep track of which serial number belongs with each vehicle as this informa on will need to be entered in PestPac. 2 Street Eagle Quick Start Guide What s in the Box PestPac GPS Tracking Device Wiring Harness/Garmin Nüvi Cable Antenna Op onal Equipment (not included) Garmin Nüvi for dispatching and messaging. This unit is available from electronics stores and vendors such as: Best Buy, Amazon.com, Tiger Direct, Frys, hhgregg, BrandsMart, Abt Electronics and other retailers na onwide. NOTE: Your Garmin unit comes with preloaded so ware that will need to be updated to func on properly with our Dispatching and Messaging features. To download the most recent so ware version, click here and simply download the WebUpdater from Garmin. Use the supplied USB cable to install the latest so ware version. Connect your Garmin device to your PC and run WebUpdater. 01LG Page 2

3 Account Setup Your account must be established and ac vated prior to receiving your vehicle tracking devices. When installing tracking unit(s), use the worksheet (included at the end of this document) to record which vehicles are installed with which device. This worksheet should be saved for future use. A label highligh ng the device serial number is affixed to each tracking unit. For new PestPacGPS customers, once your order has been received and processed, we will you a Username, Password, and URL for login. The vehicle tracking devices are ac vated, bench-tested to ensure func onality, and then shipped directly to you. You will want to schedule the installa on of devices within a reasonable me-frame to realize op mal benefits from implemen ng PestPacGPS within your organiza on. All air me service is billed on a pro-rated term for the current month of service. We will auto-bill you on the first of every month. If you wish to cancel service, especially for Seasonal Vehicles, please submit your request to your sales representa- ve no later than the 25 th Day of the Month you wish to suspend service. Requests to suspend/cancel service cannot be performed a er that day and customer acknowledges that service will con nue for the next full month. NOTE: All devices are shipped ac vated. For quality assurance each device is bench tested prior to shipping. Antenna Placement Proper Antenna placement is utmost important for a successful installa on and for a trouble-free opera on of PestPacGPS. The PestPacGPS device uses an external antenna for both GPS and GSM (cellular) signals. IMPORTANT: When installing the antenna, it is more important to consider GPS performance over cellular (GSM) performance. GPS signal strengths are much lower than typical cellular networks supported by the PestPacGPS device. To maximize performance of the PestPacGPS device, placement of the antenna should have a clear view of the sky whenever possible. The best installa on loca on for the antenna should have a visibility of up to 14 satellites at peak. If the antenna is inalled in a loca on which only has visibility to a maximum of 7 satellites at peak, problems can occur, which will result in intermi ent opera on (transmission of data). 01LG Page 3

4 Antenna Placement (con nued) If the device(s) is/are being installed on vehicles while inside a building (garage, warehouse, etc.) your device(s) may not receive a GPS or cellular signal. We recommend driving the vehicle for a minimum of 5 minutes to assure op mal installa on and performance. NOTE: GPS signals WILL penetrate glass, plas c, foam, fiberglass and wood. NOTE: GPS signals WILL NOT penetrate metal or aluminum. For this reason, it is important to place the antenna where it is not obstructed by metal or wiring and cannot be obstructed by technicians tools of the trade including clipboards, handhelds, etc. NOTE: Placement of the antenna in an area which might be even slightly obscured by metal include: pillars, wiper blades, aluminum foil (used by high-end vehicles on the underside of the dash to reduced effects of the sun s heat). Compromised antenna visibility of the GPS satellite constella on is the most common reason for intermi ent opera- on of vehicle tracking devices. Covert installa on of antennas should be avoided whenever possible too as this poses less visibility of the sky for GPS recep on. IMPORTANT: In areas where cellular coverage is less than op mal i.e. rural/remote areas, we recommend an externally mounted Dual-band/Tri-band GPS/GSM antenna. These antennae are available with either a magne c mount base of a surface mount base (pernmanent). Please contact a PestPacGPS representa ve for addi onal informa on. Best Placement for GPS/GSM Antennas Upper Right Corner of/on Windshield Worst Placement for GPS/GSM Antennas Worst Placement for GPS/GSM Antennas Under the dash near the instrument cluster OR on base of dashboard. Obstruc ons/interference includes: metal and wiring, clipboards, cell phones, personal belongings, and also poten al for radio/electronics interference. Behind Pillars Direct view of sky is obstructed by metal. Also, most vehicles manufactured today come standard with side air-curtains/bags. 01LG Page 4

5 For rural/remote areas We recommend/suggest using a permanent or magne c mounted GPS/GSM Antenna. Especially if cellular coverage is minimal, at best, when communica ng via cell phone with Technicians in the field. Installa on Instruc ons Basic Wiring and Installa on Guidelines PestPacGPS requires a standard 3-wire installa on to operate efficiently. Op onal use of Inputs & Outputs, including Garmin Nuvi func onality, is available too. A local installer who is experienced installing GPS devices will provide you with trouble-free installa on and opera on of PestPacGPS. Wire Color Signal/Descrip on Red Wire 12 VDC Constant Black Wire Ground Wire White Wire Igni on Wire The Red Wire (Power) should be directly wired to a constant power source found under the dash. DO NOT wire to vehicle accessories like Radios, Cigare e Lighters, etc. but directly to the constant wire found in the Igni on Wiring Harness and as a last resort to the Fuse Box. This connec on point should be fuse protected to not more than 5 Amps. The Black Wire (Ground) should be securely fastened to a grounded screw under the dash. The White Wire (Igni on) is the Igni on Event wire that is best installed directly to the Igni on Wire which extends the length of the steering column and is best connected where the dash and steering column meet. All makes and models of vehicles are different. For that reason, we recommend visi ng prior to installing device to learn your par cular vehicle s Constant & Igni on wires and their specific color(s). Ensure that power to the igni on wire is available ONLY when the vehicle igni on is turned on. Inputs /Outputs please refer below and to next page for u lizing the Input/Output func ons of the PestPacGPS device. Inputs: PTO usage, light bars, doors, panic, etc. Outputs: Lock/Unlock doors, Honk Horn, Remote Start, Disable/Enable Starter. Standard Automo ve Relays should always be used when u lizing Output features of PestPacGPS devices. 01LG Page 5

6 IMPORTANT : DO NOT cut wiring harness to shorten length of cable(s) as this will void warranty. A er installing, carefully coil any excess cable length and secure with a zip- e up under the dash. Be sure the cables are not bent or constricted in any way. Preferred method for comple ng connec ons to the power and igni on sources is a poke & wrap connec on. DO NOT solder or use T-Tap Connectors. Use standard commercial wiring prac ces to create a permanent installa- on whenever possible. Status LED s to Indicate Service Status LED s Status LED lights (Red & Green) are on the front of the PestPacGPS device and can provide valuable informa on about the opera on of the unit. When possible, install the unit in such a way that these lights can be seen with reasonable ease for future troubleshoo ng. A er installing the unit, and prior to securing under the dash area, make sure the unit has a solid Green light and a blinking Red light that goes solid for 4 seconds, then repeats the pa ern. IMPORTANT : Prior to installing your Garmin Nuvi devices to the PestPacGPS tracking devices, you will need to update your Garmin(s) to func on with the Dispatching & Messaging feature. Upda ng to Current So ware Version Your Garmin unit comes with preloaded so ware that will need to be updated to func on properly with our Dispatching & Messaging features. To download the most recent so ware version, click here and simply download the WebUpdater from Garmin. Use the supplied USB cable, provided by Garmin, to install the latest so ware version. Connect your Garmin device to your PC and run WebUpdater. WebUpdater is a free applica on that lets you update your units so ware from home or office. Download it once to your desktop, and you can check for and install so ware updates without using your internet web browser. Simply run WebUpdater from your computer, and it will do all the work for you. WebUpdater s simple interface makes it easy to upgrade your opera ng so ware. Just connect your Garmin GPS to your computer, run WebUpdater, and follow the screen prompts. A er confirming that you want to perform an update, WebUpdater will download that update for you and install it on your GPS. 11 Setup in PestPac Company Setup in PestPac In the Company Setup, under Addi onal Modules, select GPS. Check the Use GPS checkbox. You can then enter in your US Fleet username, password and customer ID. GPS Units Lookup Table In the Company Menu in PestPac, select Lookup Tables then click on the GPS Units Lookup Table. To begin adding your GPS units to this lookup table, you will need to know the serial number of each unit, which vehicle the serial number is ed to and the technician/employee who drives the vehicle most o en. Click on Add GPS Unit to begin adding your Street Eagle units. Enter in a Code and Descrip on for each GPS Unit. Select the technician who will use this vehicle most o en. Repor ng in PestPac is ed to the technician. If a GPS unit does not have a technician assigned to it, the repor ng will not be as robust as it could be. The Legacy ID is the serial number of the GPS unit. Be sure to enter it exactly. Be sure to check the Ac ve checkbox for each ac ve GPS Unit. Click on Add when finished to add the GPS Unit. This must be completed for each unit that you purchase. 01LG Page

12 Feature Review There are several features in PestPac that can be u lized once your Street Eagle devices have been ac vated and installed. These include GPS Vehicle Map, GPS Vehicle Tracker and Repor ng. Each will be gone over in detail. GPS Vehicle Map In PestPac, go to the Tools Menu and select GPS Vehicle Map. You will then be asked to select whether you d like to see the vehicles for the en re company or only a specific branch. Click on the link you d like to select. You will then see a map similar to the one above. It will a empt to zero in on the area in which your vehicles are in. Addi onally, customer informa on will be displayed in the bo om pane. Each of the bu ons/op ons will be gone over in detail in the next few pages. 01LG Page

13 Menu: This op on will bring you back to the previous screen where you can select either the En re Company of a specific Branch to view GPS informa on about Refresh Orders: Refreshes the GPS map with any orders that have been added or edited Clear Orders: Clears the GPS informa on for orders for today. Please note that if you select this op on, all GPS data collected up to the point during today will be lost. Show History: Allows the user to view informa on for a specific technician. It will show both recent vehicle GPS informa on and recent Garmin Messages. Show All: This op on will be defaulted in the dropdown. If you d like to view a specific technician, click on the dropdown and select that technician. Zoom to Data: This will cause the map to zoom to where there is ac ve GPS ac vity Show Traffic: This op on will overlay the map with current traffic condi ons. Green means speeds are normal, yellow indicates that speeds are below normal and red indicates high traffic Update Data: This op on will update all data on the map including orders and traffic informa on 01LG Page

14 The bo om pane of the Vehicle Map window will have the op on to view Service Order informa on or Vehicle Informa on depending upon which tab is selected. Service Orders: This tab will show detailed informa on about any order that is on the map. You can click on the column headers to sort by that column. Vehicles: This tab will show detailed informa on about each vehicle. Service Orders Tab When clicking on the Dropper Icon next to a Service Order number, the map will go to that order, put a point on the map and show a pop out with detailed informa on about that order. 15 Vehicles Tab This tab will display the Vehicle Name, Technician assigned to it, the current address where the vehicle is as well as the heading, speed and status. Click on the column header to sort by that column. GPS Vehicle Tracker In PestPac, go to Tools >GPS Vehicle Tracker You will see all of your vehicles as well as detailed informa on about who is driving the truck and where it is. Clicking on the blue GPS Unit link for each unit will run a GPS Vehicle History Report for that vehicle. 01LG Page
