1 Presen ng the Early Warning Systems: MicroMesh + GlobalMesh RF Detection: A Technology Brief concerning the detection of Drones Above + Phones Below, and everything in-between HSS Development

2 2 The Early Warning System The Early Warning System is a detec on + visualiza on technology. It consists of advanced sensor telemetry that is used to observe and collect data in order to show you that someone or something with RF technology has trespassed on or over your land. Think of it as radar for the Internet Of Things, only it can sense and detect on a much smaller scale and alert you to the presence of more than just incoming aircra or vehicles. It can alert if a Drone is a mile away and coming toward you. It can alert if a cell phone is a mile away and coming toward you. It can alert if a smart phone / watch or pacemaker or car has just crossed the border, and is coming toward you. The Early Warning System was designed to gain both intelligence on human targets + uav drones in range, based on the technology used, such as: commercial drones smart phones bluetooth technology wifi (and mifi) signals hearing aids and watches other modern technologies used by criminals, terrorists, convicts, civilians The Early Warning System (System) works off of a Mesh Network backbone. The System accuracy will depend upon the ini al setup. There are 2 versions of the Early Warning System: The MicroMesh and The GlobalMesh. The MicroMesh handles most deployment se ngs, while the GlobalMesh is the expanded version.

3 3 MicroMesh Vs. Global Mesh Because every environment for deployment is different, an ini al survey would be undertaken. This survey would determine the recommended deployment level of telemetry 'endpoints'. This survey would also map the signal levels and loca on data that would result in the triggering of the System's sensors. A secondary analysis would take into account the condi ons required for a full blown installa on of the more powerful version, the GlobalMesh. Once a System has been set up, the observa on and aler ng features will then be operable. The MicroMesh handles up to a Mile, the GlobalMesh goes beyond. Before the ini al setup, an assessment would be made and a plan for antenna arrangement would be created. The system build is always the same for both solu ons. The pla orm of the Early Warning System can sense and pick up by line of site RF signals at a distance of 1 mile away. This MicroMesh can then increase in sensi vity and accuracy for detec ng technologies. It can grow into the GlobalMesh, through the inclusion of addi onal sensors. The only difference between the minimum deployment and the heavily saturated deployment is going to be the accuracy rate.

4 4 System Detec on View & Level of Accuracy The system shows the operator what is happening through the Graphic User Interface. That interface can tell the operator if the system detected a Drone, a Cell Phone, a Car, etc. It can tell the operator where the Drone Operator is, as well as where the Drone is, in real me. Ques on: Can the operator see exactly where these infiltra ons took place? Answer: A: The operator can use the system s built in Visualiza on technology (video) This video can include the detec on & mapping coordinates of an infiltra on. B: If the operator already has a network of cameras around the compound / facility, the system is API friendly and can be integrated with exis ng camera deployments. Levels of Accuracy: Does the user wish to see ac vity within 3 meters of signal detec on, or will 30 meters be sufficient? Different operators want different results, depending on what the environment looks like as well as what the mission for short or Open Applica on Expansion: Viewing Threats ON SCREEN as they are detected The sensor and loca on data can be exported in real me and integrated with a visual camera applica on. Whether the user has a network of cameras throughout an area, be it a group of PODs (Police Observa on Devices) or just standard PTZ cameras, cue to slew units, or even a collec on of 360 degree border surveillance systems, the data from the Early Warning System can include a visual alert of loca on and with viewing. Just like the Internet Of Things, the data generated can return a greater level of situa onal awareness that has been filtered through a Visualiza on (surveillance camera) system. Shown here is a video system that was integrated with a customer s Early Warning System This visualiza on system is open with an Applica on Programming Interface (API) so that it can be integrated with any current camera systems currently in use (current deployments that are already networked) or it can come with a new grouping of cameras. 5 5 Visualiza on So ware If you want more than just aler ng, if you want to see situa onal awareness on screen, then the Early Warning System has an API that works with a 3rd Party Visualiza on System. 6 6 Aler ng The Early Warning System can send out an alert to the operator that it has detected something. It can send out alerts to mul ple users, and not just a single operator. In most instances, the Early Warning System can dis nguish what type of technology it has detected. It can tell the difference between a Bluetooth hearing aid and a small commercial Drone. Detec on Through the installed sensor network, the Early Warning System can detect infiltra ons. It can also see remote technologies that are controlling or communica ng with those infiltra ons. That means if a Drone is approaching, and it is being controlled by an operator who is much further away (about a mile or more), the Early Warning System can detect and even locate that operator. If an infiltra on involves a Drone that is streaming back video to the operator, and the operator has an iphone or other Smart Phone and is watching the video in real me, that Phone cr Smart Phone can also be detected. Detec on + Post Intelligence Tracking Once the system detected that iphone / Smart Phone, it now has intelligence about the device that the Drone operator was controlling with. The Early Warning System can discover the Mac address of that phone. This represents a significant method to follow a suspected terrorist or criminal. The System can ping the Mac Address of any 4G enabled phone, no ma er if the WiFi of the phone is ON or OFF. That Mac Address is assigned by the service provider and with it that Mac Address can lead Law Enforcement to the iden ty of the mobile subscriber. The System can even detect a phone in Airplane Mode. The System will observe a signal that takes place in Airplane 'sleep' Modes of mobile phones every 45 to 60 seconds. Even if the screen is blank and the phone is in a 'sleep' mode where no ac vity appears, the phone is s ll detectable. Example of Sensors linked to a central core in a mesh network Real Time Tracking Any intercepted Mac Addresses can be tracked in real me if they are within range of the Early Warning System. The primary method for tracking involves once a device has been iden fied, the actual iden fier of that device (smart phone, for example) can be pushed to a database of known suspects. If the area of installa on has Choke Points for access by people on the ground, addi onal sensors can be deployed there to provide extended coverage. If someone enters that area, then the System can generate an alert and the operator of the system can then ini ate a proper response to this type of intrusion (authorized or unauthorized). This type of Real Time Tracking can supplement unguarded areas that should be controlled.

7 7 Approved & Denied Detec on The Early Warning System stores all it captures. It also permits the operator to program Approved equipment a er they have been iden fied. For example, if a group of security guards work on the land under protec on by the Early Warning System, and the System detects their phones or their UHF radios, and someone new who a empts to sneak onto the property with a device, or send a Drone over the property, the System will alert to a new detec on that has not been iden fied (or approved). If the System is installed over a period of me, this feature makes the system a powerful security component for integra on with current deployments that have to dis nguish between authorized users and those who are denied permission to be present on or over the grounds of coverage. Shown here is a Drone Operator. The Early Warning System can detect Drone Ac vity. Not only can it detect the drone coming toward the Mesh Network of sensors, it can see the operator in proximity to the Mesh Net. It can plot the operator s loca on as well as provide an indica on of signal a ributes the operator is engaging in, during real me. That means that all RF detec ons can be provided and responded to by perimeter security guards.

8 8 CounterMeasure Response The Early Warning System is congruent with the HSS DJ240 Series of Pole and Wall Mounted RF Jamming Systems. These Drone Jammer pla orms can ac vate when the Early Warning System detects an unauthorized entry into the airspace and groundspace of an area under protec on. Using a proprietary form of Jamming, the Drone Jammer can propaga on interference in both direc onal and omni direc onal radia on pa erns. The Drone Jammer CounterMeasure can be set up to respond to a threat in this manner in order to not disturb the full area but only the area where the Drone, Cell Phone, or other device was detected in. Because the detec on provides very accurate loca on on where the threat has breached the border, localized Jamming can be implemented in order to focus only in that area and not disturb other areas with RF interference. Once the threat has been removed, the RF Jamming System will then power down and the Early Warning System will come back online. This automa c func onality is helpful so that an operator does not have to monitor any invasion and push bu ons to ac vate Jamming. This is an automated func on for specific requirements. Reac ve + Responsive Jamming Once a signal is detected, the frequency is iden fied. That frequency can then be automa cally inpu ed into the RF Jamming System. Once that happens, the System can block just that threat in a responsive manner, further limi ng the interference to other telemetry on loca on of the secure area.
