3 SECTION I - GENERAL INFORMATION After installation or service of any Powered Spacesaver Mobile System, you must test the function of the PhotoSweeps. 1. Place an object at least 1 in height at mid aisle. - If you have nested or waist high sweeps, you will need to test with a similar device to block the sweep beam. 2. Move carriage toward the object. 3. Assure each carriage stops just prior to touching the object. 4. If carriage fails to stop before touching the object, adjust gain and repeat test. 1. Each aisle must be protected by a minimum of one floor level sweep. 2. Any system that has an auto-move function must be protected by two safety devices per aisle, except the outside aisles which must have at least one floor level sweep. 3. Some auto moves require ZFS as the second safety devices. 4. Typically PhotoSweeps are planned to Transmit right to left when facing the component pair. This may be altered in rare circumstances to prevent errant locked aisles. Watch your planning paperwork for more details. 5. The Gain adjustment pods (potentiometer) is very fragile. Use a small jewelers screwdriver for all adjustments. 6. Gain is adjusted from the 11:00 O clock position (least gain) to 7:00 O clock (highest gain). 7. We recommend pre-setting the gain prior to attaching the components to the Spacesaver system. 8. Final adjustment and testing must be done after power is applied to the system. 9. Do not pinch any wires when mounting Photosweep housings. Pinched wires may result in equipment damage. Spacesaver OP Page 3

7 SECTION III - SETTING INTENSITY GAIN 1. Adjust the potentiometer on the Transmitter and Receiver to the correct gain listed in the chart below. 2. Mount the components as instructed in the wiring installation manual for the product you are installing. Use caution to not pinch the wire (s) as this could cause logic board damage. 3. After powering the Spacesaver system, verify the Transmitter is emitting a red pulsing light. If the LED is not pulsing, increase the gain at the potentiometer. 4. Increase the gain on the Receiver until the LED on the face of the component starts to blink red. 5. Decrease the gain until the LED just begins to blink green. 8 SECTION IV - RECEIVER OUTPUT INDICATOR LED OFF - There is no light being received from the Transmitter Yellow - There is a weak light signal being received. Green - The proper amount of light is being received. Red - Too much light is being received.
