9 Engine Ground Runs (EGR) and Engine Ground Noise Proposed Actions - More robust OSI (Operation Safety Instructions) procedures with enhanced approval process (Airlines will have to justify more specifically the need for an EGR at night) - Enhanced data capture on EGRs for record-keeping, enable analysis and for reference - Matching engine ground noise events with AIP monitors - Adding noise monitors at the airport perimeter and in community areas - Detecting and locating engine ground noise events - Assessing community noise levels

11 Taxiing, Hold and Auxiliary Power Unit Measurements July persons conducting live acoustic measurements for 3-5 days 6-10 unmanned noise logging monitors

12 Further Monitoring Plans Proof of concept testing - MEMS (Micro Electro-Mechanical systems) noise monitors to be deployed - Locations along runway side-line and around threshold positions - Long-term automated with digital uploading. - Spectral analysis to detect Reverse Thrust - Array analysis to assess Start of Roll noise levels and directionality - Coordination with AIP monitors to assess and triangulate EGR noise - Low cost MEMS/Raspberry Pie technology and / or deployment of HAL NMT (noise monitoring terminals)
