Introduction The refrigerator is used for keeping foods cool and preventing the foods from rotting or liquids from going bad. Over time it has changed from ice box to Freon. The ice box Picture from e-book A Freon refrigerator Picture from e-book

The Ice Box The ice box looked like a wooden closet. It had a nob and it had a wooden drawer for the freezer. It worked by a ice man bringing ice each couple of days and they put in the ice in the ice box so the ice keeps the food cool. It was created around 1900 by Thomas Moore. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they didn t have to hope for cold weather they could just put ice in their ice box and it would cool the food down. People s lives were changed in a negative way because it was really expensive and they had to put the ice in the ice box and it was really tiring to put the ice in the ice box.

The Mechanical Refrigerator The mechanical refrigerator looked like a gas and it made the refrigerator look a lot more efficient. It worked by the gas made the refrigerator cool down and the refrigerator wasn t flammable. It was created around 1931 by Thomas Midgley, Jr. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they didn t have to worry about it catching on fire and it was more efficient then the ice box. People s lives were changed in a negative way because Freon damaged the ozone layer.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from ice box to Freon is a positive because ice was really tiring to put in the ice box and Freon was a lot more safe and more efficient than the ice box but Freon damaged the ozone layer.

Introduction The refrigerator is used for storing food and keeping it cool over time. Over time it has changed from ice box to energy-efficient refrigerator. Ice box Picture from e-book Energy-efficient refrigerator Picture from e-book

The Ice Box The ice box looked like a big box that has a little tray under it. It worked by putting a giant ice cube in one part then put the food in another part. It was created around 1900 by Thomas Moore. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they didn t need to worry about eating the food right away and it wouldn t go bad. People s lives were changed in a negative way because after a while people started getting sick of it because it made puddles all the time.

The Energy Efficient Refrigerator The energy efficient refrigerator looks like a big rectangle with a black square where you get ice and water. It works by storing food inside and keeping food cool and a freezer to keep food frozen. It was created around 1993 by Carl Von Linden. People s lives were changed in a positive way because no more people getting sick from Freon. People s lives were changed in a negative way because it costs way more money.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from ice box to energy is positive because no more spills and you don t have to bend down.

The Telephone Allen

Introduction The telephone is used for calling people. Over time it has changed from the first telephone to the smartphone. This is Alexander G. Bell with the first telephone. Picture from ebook. This is the smartphone made by Apple. Picture from ebook.

The First Telephone The first telephone looked like a dial with piece that you could talk into. It worked by electricity. It was created around by 1890 by Alexander Graham Bell. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they could call 911 faster if there was an emergency. People s lives were changed in a negative way because they didn t get enough exercise.

The Smart Phone The smart phone looked like a small rectangle with buttons. It worked by electricity, satellite and apps. It was created around 2007 by IBM. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they could get information. People s lives were changed in a negative way because they played too many video games.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from the first telephone to the smartphone is positive because you can bring a smartphone anywhere and you couldn t bring the first telephone anywhere. That s my opinion.

The Light Bulb Anderson

Introduction The light bulb is used for seeing in the dark. Over time it has changed from lightbulb to cfl. This is a normal lightbulb Pictures from e-book. This is the cfl Pictures from e-book.

The Invention of the Light Bulb The light bulb looked like glase, brackabl, filament. It worked by electrcity flows to a metal base into the filament then it lights up. It was created around 1879 by Thomas Edison. People s lives were changed in a positive way because it let people see. People s lives were changed in a negative way because it costs money.

Compact Florescent Light Bulbs (CFLs) CFLs look like swirly bulb. They worked by when electricity goes through the gas the gas glows and mackes light. They were created around 1976 by Edward Hammer. People s lives were changed in a positive way because you can see much better. People s lives were changed in a negative way because if you tuch it you can get burned.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from lightbulb to Cfl is positive because it saves a lot of energy and it last longer.

The Ice Box The ice box looked like it had handles, was usually wood, brown, and big. It worked by people delivering ice, then you would put it in your ice box and keep food and other things cool or frozen. It was created around 1900 by Dr. William Cullen, Michael Farady, Dr. John Goorie, and Thomas Moore. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they didn t have to dig a hole, it helped keep food cooler than before. Their food didn t go bad, and it cost less money than now. People s lives were changed in a negative way because when ice melted it would spill on the floor and that could be dangerous like if someone didn t notice a spill and slipped.

The Mechanical Refrigerator The mechanical refrigerator looked like white or silver usually, bigger than before, handles, and usually metal. It worked by Freon, they would make it in the factory or place and put the Freon in it or someplace near it and the Freon will make it work( Freon is gas) It was created around 1931 by Thomas Midgley Jr. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they didn t have to make sure there were spills anywhere and it was better and easier with freezing or cooling something. People s lives were changed in a negative way because Freon is harmful to Earth s Ozone layer. They often cracked open. When they cracked open, they got people sick. They also cost a lot. They weren t allowed to make them any more.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from the ice box to Freon is both positive and negative because the ice box is more work and you could slip but Freon is harmful to Earth s Ozone layer.

The Light Bulb Dwyne

Introduction The light bulb is used for if it s dark you need to see. Over time it has changed from Iight bulb to CFL. Light bulb Picture by E-Book CFL Picture by E-Book

The Daguerreotype The daguerreotype looked like a black box with a tube on the top and on the bottom there is something that looks like a cape. It worked by no light coming in where the thing that looked like a cape, and you would need to wait six minutes for it to capture an image. It was created around 1830 by Louis Daguerre. People s lives were changed in a positive way because they didn t have to wait a long time get a painting because it only took six minutes to capture the image. People s lives were changed in a negative way because it cost a lot of money and could break easily.

The Digital Camera The digital camera looks like a square with a button and a screen to see the picture. It works by pressing a button and the image was stored digitally. It was created in the 1990s by Kodak. People s lives were changed in a positive way because it took a second and could fit in a pocket. People s lives were changed in a negative way because it still cost a lot of money and could break. People did not always develop pictures because they could see them right away.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from Daguerreotype to digital is positive because digital is easier to control. It s smaller and you can see the picture right away.
