Introduction The telescope is used to see the sky, moon, stars, and space at night. Over time it has changed from Galileo to Newton. This is Galileo s telescope. Picture from ebook. This is Newton s telescope. Picture from ebook.

Galileo s Telescope (Refracting) Galileo s Telescope looked like a piece of shiny, long, wood with a hole in the middle. It worked by a lens that was concentrating light and bringing light together. Then someone looks into the telescope and they can see very far away. It was created around 1609 by Galileo Galilei. People s lives were changed in a positive way because you could now see how the sky, moon, and space really looked like. You could also see through a telescope better because it was less blurry. People s lives were changed in a negative way because people liked the moon and earth better seeing it with their own eyes so they got mad at Galileo. It also cost a lot of money.

Newton s Telescope (Reflecting) Newton s telescope looked like a really short, fat and metal cylinder. It worked by bouncing light off two different mirrors. It was created around 1668 by Sir Isaac Newton. People s lives were changed in a positive way because the lens you looked into was less blurry. Before it was still very blurry. People s lives were changed in a negative way because it cost a lot more money.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from Galileo s telescope to Newton s telescope is positive because now we know what the world is like and we can learn more. Now people know the truth about what is really up in the sky.

People s lives were changed in a negative way because sometimes the light bulb could burn out and wasted energy.

Compact Florescent Light Bulbs (CFLs) The CFL looked like a swirly bulb and wires. They worked by electricity, wires, glass bulb and a filament. They were created around 1976 by: Edward Hammer People s lives were changed in a positive way because it lasted longer then light bulb because it was better for the environment. People s lives were changed in a negative way because it could hurt there eyes.

My Opinion Overall, I think the change from light bulb to CFL is positive because they could see more and for a long time.
