Theme:Tone on Tone Gold Award To Chi Fung When I first read the title Tone on Tone, the famous painting White on White by the well-known Russian painter Kazimir Malevich came to my mind. Immediately I knew that I need to find two objects with similar color while having their own characteristics, and they must blend in with each other. But that s not enough, it would be great if they can create contrast at the same time. With this concept in mind, I was still not sure what I was looking for. I kept looking for objects until I saw them and I knew immediately...i have found them. To me, they don't just represent two objects, they also represent how I feel about the city.

Theme:Tone on Tone Silver Award Chau Ka Wa The photo was taken at Western District PCWA. When I knew the theme Tone on Tone, the first thing came to my mind was the unique cultural characteristics of people of different nationalities. The women in this photo are dressed according to their personal styles that were expressed from their clothes, makeup, and accessories. All these elements are mixed with the tone of sunset and pallet, which enable their overall tone to stand out in the crowd.

Theme:Tone on Tone Bronze Ho Chun Kit "The Decisive Moment" is my description for this photograph. That evening when I was on a ferry returning to the exhibition centre with my friends, I was still trying to decide which photo to submit for the competition. Just at that split second, the lights from a ferry approaching the pier caught my eye, and the theme "Tone On Tone" crossed my mind. It is at that decisive moment that I picked up my camera and pressed the shutter.

Theme:Tone on Tone Merit Chan Luk Pui The three primary color at the upper right corner represents a single "Tone", while the image of the Buddhist Sutras defines another "Tone". This resonates with abstractness of the theme Tone on Tone, where the ideas of Colour is no other than tone, tone is no other than colour and Form is no other than emptiness, emptiness is no other than form from the Heart of Sutra can stimulate endless imaginations. This is why I created this work.

Theme:Tone on Tone Merit Chan Yu Hin Looking at the traditional Hong Kong style residential buildings, there are clothes hanging next to the window. The colourful t-shirts and the bright orange wall created an eye catching tone-on-tone scene! I cannot help myself to press the shutter.

Theme:Tone on Tone Merit Wong Wai Man When I stroll along a narrow street surrounding by old buildings, I saw an antique vehicle parking on the pavement. I found the scenery very relevant to the theme Tone on Tone. I picked up my camera with a few adjustments and created the photo.

Theme:Intersection Gold Award & Best of Show Award Chow Ho Man There are moments in life when we find ourselves at a crossroad, it is the very choices we make at these intersections that define who we are. I reminisce my past as a student in university, recollecting the myriad of opportunities available and the freedom to seize each and every one of them, transforming them into endless possibilities. I am grateful to my alma mater, where my passion in photography was kindled. It granted me a unique way of telling my own story, and to capture this beautiful world through my lenses.

Theme:Intersection Silver Award Tsang Kin Yan Intersection may refer to the ups and downs in life. We may only recall the bright side of life (colored photos). But are you willing to recall the failure in life?

Theme:Intersection The theme given immediately inspires me that Intersection is literally a place where two things meet and cross. I took this pictures at a busy crossroad. It is a spot where every human being has ever stayed and waited once. They will look at neighbours and drivers, and eventually will have a chat with strangers but ultimately being submerged in the bustle of the city. Bronze Award Romain Barthe Human cross Few years ago, I started a project called Urban Thoughts : considering how urban structures are monitoring and affecting human s city life. I have tried to show the alienation of individuals who do not mingle into the stream of people. At last, I took the opposite approach to emphasizing the hustle in the city and how it weaken the existence of individuals.

Theme:Intersection Merit Yiu Wing Yan The theme Intersection made me think of a person who was perplexed when making choices at the crossroads of life and thus looked for guidance. I intended to take a picture that would contain these elements, I therefore decided to shoot the scene of Fortune-telling at Temple Street to express this idea through the image.

Theme:Intersection Merit Lee Yin Cheung I like street photography as I can have my camera in hand and roam in narrow streets to feel the city, and I found that geometric patterns could usually be found in the buildings. By holding the camera and waiting for the decisive moment, an interesting picture of intersection between people and the building was taken.

Theme:Intersection Merit Yiu Ka Man Intersection is the point where people meets. In the shopping mall, at the intersection, people met, and parted in a second. The streams of people are frozen in time with the use of high shutter speed. The photo is shot with a cool tone to reproduce the indifference between people. Through the Canon lenses, I can get a clear and sharp image although the indoor lighting is not strong enough.

Theme:Radiance / Resplendent Gold Award Chan Man Fung Before taking this picture, my teammates and I were walking through the bustling streets in Causeway Bay and looking for the subject for the theme. I stood near the window of a department store and found the window glass reflected the colorful lighting of the neon lights of shops on opposite side of the street. The image of the portrait in the display window was surrounded by the colorful lighting. The foreground lighting, background portrait and created an illusion that eyes of the woman was looking at radiant view. Then, I pressed the shutter and captured this amazing moment.

Theme:Radiance / Resplendent Silver Award Kwan Kwok Fung Illuminations has made Hong Kong one of the world s resplendent cities. The HKCEC and the buildings around created a unique composition. I have used the double exposure technique when shooting this picture. I first shoot the clear night scene and then using a telephoto zoom lens with a maximum aperture to blur the image. In addition, the street lights, traffic lights and vehicles lights were captured to make the sky and the buildings become more colourful and radiant.

Theme:Radiance / Resplendent Bronze Award Yam Chung This photo was taken from Garden Hill. The resplendent lights reminds me of the fascinating streets during the day and night in our great city. Up at the summit, you can enjoy the shimmering view of Kowloon in the midst of silence. The multiple exposure of bright spots perfectly created this resplendent picture.

Theme:Radiance / Resplendent Merit Lai Chi Kin Benjamin On the Old Street in Wan Chai, there are still a handful of radiant neon signs left on the buildings. The gleaming colours of the signs shine in the old streets, and seem to tell a glorious story of the Pawnshop, which will never happen again. Pawnshop is a wonderful place that you can borrow money using your personal valuables. There are many people in the past used their bright gems as collateral for loans to get through the hard times.

Theme:Radiance / Resplendent Merit Leung Wai Yum When the lights were just switched on at dusk, a man is walking through the gloomy corridor. The hustle and bustle of the public housing estate as the backdrop actually gives a sense of harmony and makes people think of home, creating a radiant atmosphere in this ordinary scene. This is Wah Fu Estate, the vintage local public housing in Hong Kong.

Theme:Radiance / Resplendent Merit Chu Oi Fong Little City Big Moment" I can still remember those days when Hong Kong were glorious and resplendent and it was a place full of dreams. Today she is going through rehabilitation, would she return as a dream? The long exposure and double exposure techniques were applied on this shot to express such complicated transition and feelings. Let this photo remind us this moment.
