In addition - camera technology outdates at a rapid rate aim to buy the best quality camera you can afford at the time. Camera lenses should be interchangeable (focal lengths have to be varied). Ensure that all lenses are fitted with UV filters that prevent damage to lenses & lens coatings. Opt for the following lenses or lens combinations: Any standard wide-angle zoom lens (18-55mm / mm / mm / mm) Required Medium to long focal length lens (55-200mm or mm or mm) Required Fixed Focal length lens (24mm / 35mm / 50mm / 85mm) Optional Ultra wide-angle lens (10-18mm / 10-20mm / 10-22mm) Optional Super telephoto zoom lens (150mm 600mm) Optional STORAGE MEDIA The memory card must be bought in addition to your digital camera. It is advisable to purchase two x 4GB cards or an 8GB card. EXTERNAL (OFF-CAMERA) FLASH SPECIFICATIONS Although most digital SLR s have built-in flashes (pop-ups), external speed lights (optional) deliver far better light-output and distribution in conditions where stronger lighting is called for. These also deliver optional functions for a more professional and creative approach to photography. Note that you should only purchase external flash guns or speed lights that are dedicated to the type and brand of camera you are using (e.g. a Nikon dedicated flash, suited for a particular Nikon body). Once more consult the retailer you are purchasing from. TRIPOD This item is essential for photographing with long exposures and during dim lighting conditions.
