Cut-out: Tools for selecting part of your photos, applying effects to selected areas or cloning your photos. 2 Overview

3 Step 1 Open a Photo You can open photos saved on your hard disk or other storage media (such as a Flash drive), from photo CDs or from clip art libraries. Note: The application can recognize and save a wide range of image formats: BMP, GIF, IFF, JP2/JPX/22K, JPG/JPEG/JPE, NGM, PCX, PNG,PSD,RAS, SGI, TGA, TIF/TIFF, WDP, WMP and HDP. 1. If necessary, load the media or connect the external device to your computer. 2. Click the File button on the task bar. 3. In the Task pane, click Open. 4. In the Open dialog box, locate and open the folder with the image file. 5. Select the image file and click Open. The workspace dedicated to cut-out your photos displays. Step 1 Open a Photo 3

Step 2 Clone Parts of a Photo With the Clone tool you can duplicate parts of a photo, for example to make a balloon disappear on your photo OR to add another balloon in the sky.

To make a balloon disappear: 1. Click Clone in the Task pane. 2. Click the Brush Presets arrow and select the type and size of the tool. Step 4 Cut out areas of a Photo With the Select with Magic Wand you can automatically select areas/details based on a similar color, for example to cut out a line of color on a balloon. 1. Click Cut-out on the task bar. 2. Click Magic Wand in the Task pane. 3. Use the slider in the toolbar to zoom on the area to cut out. Step 4 Cut out areas of a Photo 11

13 Step 5 Save a Photo Once you have put the finishing touches onto a photo, you can export it. The application can save photos in a wide range of image formats: NGM, JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF, TIFF, WMP, IFF, JP2, PCX, PSD, RAS,SGI and TGA. 1. Click the File button on the task bar. 2. Click Computer. 3. In the Save As dialog box, specify where to save the file. 4. Type a file name. 5. In the File type list, specify the type of image file.
