1 HANSEartWORKS 2019 in Pskov Dear members of the Hanseatic League! In terms of the XXXIX International Hanseatic Days in June 2019 Pskov is holding a photo project Traditions and Modernity. At present, the preservation of the cultural heritage through the reconstruction of the historical past by means of photography is very relevant. Meanwhile, many things that seem belonging to the past for a long time, are reflected in modern forms, colors, images. The photo project Traditions and Modernity is aimed to combine the past and the present within one photo. Whether images of the past and present will contradict each other or find a harmonious unity - this is the main issue of the contest concept HANSEARTWORKS 2019 in Pskov. The creative approach offered to photographers is the reconstruction of the Hanseatic Middle Ages in modern conditions with the peculiarities of the Hanseatic Middle Ages by means of household items, folk costumes, rituals, rural labor and the daily routine of people, their everyday lives and holidays. I cordially invite artists from Hanseatic cities to participate in the competition in accordance with the attached Annex. We will be happy to receive three applications from each city. Photos will be shown in a slideshow format on the white wall of one of Pskov's historic buildings, that fact influenced the name of the festival - "The color of the white wall". The author himself chooses the sequence of photos, as well as the musical accompaniment. In the absence of a proposal for musical accompaniment, the organizers reserve the right to choose music by themselves. The author also determines the title photograph of the whole presentation, it will be printed and placed in the center of the festive Hanseatic space, so that all the Pskovites and guests of the city can enjoy the works of artists. A short text about the main idea of the video will be presented as a pre-show of the festival. The presentation of photographs is limited to photos, the duration of the slide show is 150 seconds. Organizers compile the show program. Photos submitted for the competition are not reviewed.

3 The works of the photo project will be placed on the sites of the institutions and organizations subordinate to the Pskov City Administration and will be rotated on the LED screen located on one of the main squares of the city. Transfer of copyright Submitted photographic works to the jury of the photo contest (by , on electronic media), the participants of the competition confirm the possibility of using photographic works for purposes related to the competition. Under the use of photographs provided by the authors, we mean a public display of photographs, publication in the media with the obligatory indication of authorship. Selection of participants The Hanseatic cities publish the Regulations on the competition "Traditions and Modernity". Among the applications received Hanseatic cities are to select three. The selected works are sent to the organizers in Pskov before December 15, Of the proposed works, a team of international project coordinators selects the top 20 authors. Registration for the competition Conditions of participation The selected 20 artists are invited to Pskov for the 39th International Hanseatic Days from June 27 to June 30, At the same time, Hanseatic cities cover transport costs, as well as a fee for creating a slide show. The city of Pskov provides artists with free daily one-time meals, free excursion service, a personal invitation for a Russian visa, as well as the possibility of cheap accommodation in a specially booked hotel (35 Euro).
