1 Chris Johnston Ceramics Place Matters Studio 10 McMillan Rd, Green Gully w placematters.net.au chris_placematters_ceramics Working in clay, Chris creates both sculptural and practical pieces, inspired by place, water and the land. Chris uses terra sigillata, glazes and slips to create a range of lustrous, textural surfaces on wheel-thrown and hand-built forms. 1 George Duckett Mixed media Place Matters Studio 10 McMillan Rd, Green Gully These images are determined by circumstance and mark a personal return to another beginning and the business of rendering. My criteria for success are; have they created space? Has the mental chatter stilled whilst drawing? Is there space in the image, and do those spaces speak with a voice equal to object? 2 w Chrisanne Blennerhassett Printmaking 60 McMillan Rd, Green Gully cblennerhassett.com chrisanneblennerhassett My prints celebrate the sacred and the striking in nature, from the most complex to the simplest forms. Inspiration from the local landscape, tied with a deep concern for the health of the planet, creates work with a darker undertone.

2 Frances Guerin Ceramics 60 McMillan Rd, Green Gully francesgreenwood2 My work explores form, gesture and decoration in small sculptural ceramics, with the enduring theme of the mythical Lady of the Beasts, guardian of the natural world, presented as an anthropomorphic kangaroo holding animals and birds inspired by the creatures of the Wombat Forest. 3 w Diane Thompson Steel, resin & mixed media 75 McMillan Rd, Green Gully dianethompsonartist.com I work with mixed media in a variety of formats ranging from large, steel, outdoor work to smaller, studio, resin pieces. My spiritual relationship to the environment permeates my artwork, as I work to make sense of my connection to place. 3 Ken Killeen Drawing, painting and sculpture 75 McMillan Rd, Green Gully I am inspired by two primary sources, Nature and Spirit. The environment and beautiful natural objects I pick up in the bush reveal a mystery. I also seek to express my understanding of esoteric lore, and to illustrate sacred texts through symbols, that have many layers of meaning.

4 Leone Wallace Fibre art 494 Newstead-Maldon Rd, Welshmans Reef A beginning artist, Leone works with the traditional processes of dyeing, spinning, weaving, felting, embroidery and beading. She finds inspiration in the transformation of colour and texture as the fibres are worked. Leone s studio is an eclectic environment of colour, texture and personal memories. 5 Norm Close Painting and drawing 493 Newstead-Maldon Rd, Welshmans Reef dugout52@outlook.com Norm Close Studio Gallery norm.close My body of work varies radically. I often use charcoals and soft pastels. I also work with modern acrylic paints to create large modern images on canvas. These paintings are contemporary, therefore of a non-traditional or colonial structure. 6 Prue McAdam Painting Red Door Gallery 15 Lyons St, Newstead pruemcadam_painter Rather than painting subjects in the world around me, I like to record fleeting impressions, with marks and gestures that reference what I m viewing or have seen, but don t necessarily look realistic. I work quickly, often on multiple pieces simultaneously, the works displayed all around me on the floor.

1 Chris Johnston & George Duckett - 10 McMillan Rd, Green Gully Chrisanne Blennerhassett & Frances Guerin - 60 McMillan Rd, Green Gully Diane Thompson & Ken Killeen - 75 McMillan Rd, Green Gully Leone Wallace Newstead-Maldon Rd, Welshmans Reef * Norm Close Newstead-Maldon Rd, Welshmans Reef Prue McAdam & Richard Sullivan - 15 Lyons St, Newstead * Sarah Koschak - 6a Panmure St, Newstead DIG Cafe - cnr Lyons & Panmure Sts, Newstead (ph: ) Mary Caspar - 11 Panmure St, Newstead David Golightly - 2 Monash St, Newstead Kristin Scherlies - 2D Palmerston St, Newstead Selina Wilson - 38 Hilliers St, Newstead Look for the red flags Studios open 10am - 5pm, 23/24 & 30/31 March or by appointment except: * 10am - 5pm, daily March ** 10am - 6pm, daily March ** Roger McKindley - Cnr Punt Rd & Brandt St, Newstead ** Belinda & Trefor Prest Newstead-Daylesford Rd, Strangways Newstead Art Salon exhibition - 9 Lyons St, Newstead Newstead Arts Hub - 8a Tivey St, Newstead

6 Richard Sullivan Printmaking Red Door Gallery 15 Lyons St, Newstead curlyhill2 My printmaking is based on drawings of landscape that catches my eye wherever I might be. Mostly I m not sure why it catches my eye. Yet I m intrigued that the printmaking processes I use, often lead me to surprising insights about the places where the drawings took place, and my feelings about and associations with those places. 7 w Sarah Koschak Ceramics 6a Panmure St, Newstead sarahkoschakceramics.com sarahkoschak_ceramics I create functional, wheel-thrown porcelain ceramics, bringing handcrafted beauty to everyday life. Objects bring ritual and honouring to our lives. It s our relationship to objects that interests me; they occupy space in our homes and cradle memories and stories. 8 Mary Caspar Painting, ceramics & mixed media. 11 Panmure St, Newstead Mary is a painter, sculptor & ceramicist. She has a diploma of sculpture from RMIT and has taught and exhibited widely. She made a living for many years as a potter.

9 David Golightly Mixed media 2 Monash St, Newstead david_golightly Central to my work is the process of bringing together different elements: forms, mediums, materials etc. Photography is an increasingly important part of this process either as source material or incorporated into a drawing or painting creating a tension between fact and fiction. 10 Kristin Scherlies Painting and mosaics 2D Palmerston St, Newstead krissy_the_moo At present I enjoy using acrylic and sand when I paint. I love the texture it creates. Sometimes paintings are pre-planned but lately they have a mind of their own, so I go with the flow, and find I am happily surprised by where it takes me. 11 Selina Wilson Painting and mixed media 38 Hilliers St, Newstead w selinawilsonart.com.au selina_wilson_art Influenced by a trip to France in 2017, Selina s work is vibrant, subtle and often whimsical. Fascinated how French modern life plays out amongst glorious Gothic and Medieval backdrops, Selina s paintings explore impressionist and abstract landscapes in snow globes juxtaposed on aged facades.

12 Roger McKindley Sculpture Cnr Punt Rd & Brandt St, Newstead Entry $5 (children free) rogermckindley Roger finds beauty in objects others discard. Iron, stone, bone, wood and glass are gathered together into arrangements and installations to entice and intrigue. Roger s studio and art is all around him, an ever-expanding garden gallery to engage your imagination. 13 Belinda Prest Drawing 136 Newstead-Daylesford Rd, Strangways prestbelinda My pen and ink drawing practice centres on the scenes I see at Strangways and my journeys around the area. I sit on a camp chair with my pens and drawing block and consider the geographical and bucolic nature of this environment both past and present. 13 Trefor Prest Sculpture 136 Newstead-Daylesford Rd, Strangways w treforprestsculpture.wordpress.com treforprest_sculpture Trefor s sculptures are fabricated from numerous components using various engineering techniques and reflect the human condition. Organic/mechanical fabrications made from brass and copper, Trefor s highly engineered creations are loosely based on imaginary aspects of his own physiology.
