One rectangle will be used for the pillow. 3 squares, 13 1 /4" x 13 1 /4". Sub-cut each square twice diagonally, to make 12 C triangles. 12 Template A triangles. 16 squares, 6 1 /2" x 6 1 /2" For the pillow, cut: 1 rectangle, 16 1 /2" x 18 1 /2" for the pillow top backing. 2 rectangles, 11 1 /2" x 16 1 /2", for the pillow back. 2 Template F triangles. 2 Template H triangles. 4 squares, 3 1 /2" x 3 1 /2". 8 squares, 6 7 /8" x 6 7 /8". Make the Quilt locks Arrange one A and two WG-301 lack triangles as shown. Join the triangles to the A triangle along adjacent edges. Press the seams toward the darker fabrics. Make 8 A/ units. Finishing Remove the selvages from the backing fabric, then cut the yardage into two equal lengths. Join the pieces together along one long edge, using a 1/2" seam allowance. Press the seam open. Join the E triangles to the F triangle along adjacent edges. Press the seams open. Make 2 E/F units. E F E Press the seams as indicated. Join the rows along adjacent edges, matching seam lines, to complete the pillow top. Assemble the Pillow Press one long edge of each pillow back rectangle 1 /4" to the wrong side. Fold the pressed edges 1" to the wrong side and press again. Topstitch along the folded edges. 1/4" With right sides facing down, layer the pillow back rectangles with the stitched edges overlapping, to form a rectangle measuring 16 1 /2" x 18 1 /2". Pin, then baste the rectangles together along the overlapped edges to make the pillow back. E/F unit wrong side Arrange one H and two G triangles as shown. Join the G triangles to the H triangle along adjacent edges. Press the seams open. Make 2 G/H units. H G wrong side 1" Cut out the marked pillow top backing. Layer the pillow top backing, pillow batting, and pillow top. aste the layers together and quilt as desired. Stitch around the perimeter of the pillow, a scant 1 /4" from the outer edge. Trim the excess batting and backing. G G/H unit Place the quilted pillow top wrong sides together with the pillow back, matching outer edges. Pin, then baste around the perimeter of the pillow. Arrange one fussy-cut rectangle, two E/F units, two G/H units, and four 3 1 /2" squares in three rows of three elements, as shown. Join the elements in each row along adjacent edges.
