1 GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE RESTRICTED COM.TE/SB/ September 1976 Special Distribution Ttiles Surveillance Body Original: English/ French ARRANGEMENT REGARDING INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN TETILES Notification Under Article 2:2(i) Note bythe Chairman Attached is a notification by the European Economic Community of a programme for the elimination of pre-mfa restrictions on imports from Pakistan of a number of ttile products., The notification is circulated for the information of participants in the Ttiles Arrangement. This programme was the subject of a complaint by Pakistaz and in accordance with its usual practice in such cases the TSB heard statements by representatives of the European C.ommunity and Pakistan. The conclusions reached by the TSB are set out in -the report of its.. tenth meeting, of 1976 (COM.TE/SB/188). See also the report of the first meeting of 1976 (COM.TE/SB/147) for the outcome of the TSBIs original review of the case.

Italy. Luxembourg and the Netherlands No restrictions, other than those contained in the isting bilateral Agreement on trade in ttiles between Pakistan and the Community, are maintained with respect to the countries listed above. (b) France..Ireland and the United Kingdom The tables anned (Annes A, B and C) set out the process by which restrictions isting in each of the three regions of the Community mentioned above will be eliminated.

10 '/Cotton yarns (BTN and 5.06) are subject to Community import restrictions into the United Kingdom which or a globalized basis have been set at a level of 17,000 tons for 1974, 20,000 tons for 1975, and 50,000 tons for the fifteen-month period ;, to at which latter date the Community regulation in question pires.
