Note by the Chairman Attached is a notification by the European Economic Community of a programme for the elimination of pre-mfa restrictions on imported from India of a number of textile products. The notification is circulated for the information of participants in the Textiles Arrangement. For the TSB's comments on its review of this program, see the report of its tenth meeting (COM.TE/SB/188).

2 COM.TE/SB/190 Page 2 EUROPEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY Programmefor the Elimination of Existing Quantitative Restrictions on Textiles (Article 2 - Arrangement Regarding International Trade in Textiles) INDIA (a) Belgium,Denmark,Federal Republic of Germany, Italy,Luxembourgand the Netherlands No restrictions, other than those contained in the existing bilateral Agreement on trade in textiles between India and the Community, are maintained with respect to the countries listed above, (b) France, Ireland and the United Kingdom The tables annexed (Annexes A, B and C) set out the process by which restrictions existing in each of the three regions of the Community Mentioned above will be eliminated.
