1 > GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE RESTRICTED S2 w* Special Distribution Textiles Surveillance Body Original: English/ French ARRANGEMENT REGARDING INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN TETILES Notification Under Article 2;2(i) Note by the Chairman Attached is a notification by the European Economic Community of a programme for the elimination of pre-mfa restrictions on imports from Pakistan of a number of textile products. The notification is circulated for the information of participants in the Textiles Arrangement, This programme was the subject of a complaint by Pakistan and in accordance with its usual practice in such cases the TSB heard statements by representative's of the European Community and Pakistan. The conclusions reached by the TSB are set out in the report of ibs tenth meeting of 1976 (C0M.TE/SB/l88). See also the report of the first meeting of 1976 (C0M.TE/SB/H7) for the outcome of the TSB's original review of the case.
2 COM.TE/SB/191 Page 2 EUROPEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY Programme for the Elimination of Existing Quantitative Restrictions on Textiles (Article 2 - Arrangement Regarding International Trade in Textiles) PAKISTAN (a) Belgium, Denmark, Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands No restrictions, other than those contained in the existing bilateral Agreement on trade in textiles between Pakistan and the Community, are maintained with respect to the countries listed above. (b) France. Ireland and the United Kingdom The tables annexed (Annexes A, B and C) set out the process by which restrictions existing in each of the three regions of the Community mentioned above will be eliminated.
