2 The dress of this doll is very similar to the Ballerina outfit, it gives you an idea of how a basic outfit can be changed. Hope you like it. 3mm hook used throughout. Yarns used: Sirdar Country Style DK in 2 contrasting colours. I used pretty much all of the two balls Other Bits used: 5 x 1cm buttons for the back of the dress Small Cameo or vintage style button for the neck Small vintage style button for the back of the hat Bit of dark DK yarn for the sole and laces of the shoes 15 inch strip of I know it has a technical name but I ve forgotten!!! Feather boa style trim. Thin elastic While putting this pattern in writing I think it might be a bit more difficult than usual (or maybe it s because I ve been really ill the past few weeks) if you have and problems with understanding the pattern please me. I d love to hear from you and would rather try and help you make the outfit rather than give up. 3 The dress With the dark pink yarn and 3mm hook, ch 17 1) in BLO, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn (16) 2-38) BLO, sc across, ch 1, turn On the last row turn your work so you are working along the row ends (this is the top of the bodice) 39) 1sc in each row end across, ch1 Turn your work so you are now working along the foundation chain 40) 1sc in each of the foundation chains, ch1 Turn your work so you are working along the row ends (this is the skirt edge) 41) Working in the row ends, (1sc in 1, 2sc in next) repeat to the end, ch1 Turn your work so you are working along row 38.You are now working the button holes into the bodice. 42) sc, (ch4, 4sc) x 4 This should bring you to the top of the bodice. Now working along the bodice top (Arm holes) 43) 5sc, ch8, sk8, 12sc, ch8, sk8, 5sc This should bring you to the end of the row, if you have one or two stitches left sc to the end, it shouldn't change the dress. Working in both loops, ch1, sc down the button edge. At the end ch1 and turn, sc back up the button edge to the end of row 43. This gives you two more rows and a nice flat section to sew buttons onto. 44) Working back across the bodice top row, in FLO sc in each sc and ch across, FO, turn. 45) With light pink, join to the BLO of 1 st sc, working in BLO 4sc, sc2tog, 5sc, sc2tog, 9sc, sc2tog, 6sc, sc2tog, sc to end, ch1, turn 46) (2sc, sc2tog) across, ch 1, turn 47) Ch4 (sc, sc2tog) across, ch1, turn 48-51) sc across, ch1, turn 52) (ch3, sc) in each sc across, FO The side of the bodice with the spare loops from row 44 is the front.

4 Puff sleeves (for both sleeves) 1) With Dark Pink and the right side facing, join to centre of lower arm hole stitch, sc across to end, then working in spare loops of top arm hole, 2 hdc in 1, 2dc across to last loop, 2 hdc in last, sc in each sc to beginning of round, join ch1 2-3) sc in each sc, hdc in each hdc, dc in each dc around, join, ch1 4) (1sc, sc2tog) across, join, FO Hopefully you have 16sc, if not, adjust the number of sc2tog in the previous round to make it to 16. 5) With light pink, join to the BLO of the sc to the right of the join of round 4, sc around, join, ch1 6-10) In both loops, sc around, join, ch1 11) In FLO, (sc, ch3) in each sc around, join, FO. Skirt Turn the dress upside down with the back facing you, join dark pink to the waist of the dress, we will now be working the skirt in rounds. 1) Ch3, (dc x 5, 2dc in 1) around, join, ch3 2-11) Dc around, join ch3 At the end of round 11 change to light pink yarn, do not ch3 12) BLO, (sc, ch2) in each dc around, join, FO Trim Join light pink yarn to the 1 st spare loop of row 45, (sc, ch2) in each loop, slst in the last and FO. Finishing touches Sew buttons to the back of the dress for fastening I was lucky enough to find a small cameo style button for the neck from Hobbycraft, any small vintage button should look great though. Bloomers With light pink and the elastic 1) ch 36, over the length of elastic, join to make a loop (waistband) 2) ch3, (dc x 5, 2dc in 1) around, join (42) 3-7) ch3, dc around, join (42)

5 1 st leg 8) ch3, sk21, slst in the next dc, ch3, dc in the next 20, dc in BLO of each of the ch3, join 9-12) ch3, dc around, join While working this next round lay the elastic over the row of stitches to include it into your round. This elastic will be gathered and knotted to make an elasticated knee trim, so leave a small length at both ends to knot. 13) Over the elastic, ch1, sc around, join 14) ch3, dc around, join 15) (ch3, sc) around, join, FO 2 nd leg Join light pink to 1 st spare dc of round 7 8) ch3, dc in each dc and spare loop (from ch3) around, join 9-15) Repeat rounds 9-15 of 1 st leg Shoes I used a slate grey colour for the soles, but that was more because I had it to hand rather than choice, you can use any DK yarn you choose. For the rest of the shoes I used the Dark Pink to match the dress. Using the sole colour Ch 6 1) 2sc in 2nd ch from hook, 3sc, 6sc in last. Working on the opposite side of the ch, 3sc, 2sc in last (16) 2) 2sc in 1, 5sc, 2sc in 4, 5sc, 2sc in 1 (22) 3) 2sc in 1, 8sc, 2sc in 1, 2sc, 2sc in 1, 8sc, 2sc in 1 (26) 4) BLO sc around, change to shoe colour in the last sc 5-6) both loops, sc around (26) 7) 9sc, sc2tog x 4, 9sc (22) 8) 9sc, sc2tog x 2, 9sc, slst, FO (20)

6 Tongue Working in the centre 4 stitches at the front of the shoe. Join shoe colour yarn to the BLO of the first stitch (2 stitches to the right of the centre) 1) BLO, 4 sc, turn, ch 1 (4) 2) Working in both loops, sc across, turn 3-8) ch1, sc across, turn (4) FO Back of shoe 1) with front of shoe facing, skip the centre 2 sc, join yarn to the FLO of the next sc (number 4 on diagram). Sc in both loops around to the last 3, sc in FLO of the next sc, leaving 2 sc unworked, turn. 2) ch1, sc2tog, sc around to the last 2, sc2tog, turn 3) ch1, sc around, turn Repeat rows 2 & 3 once more, FO Laces Make a chain of 50, leave a small thread to help sew through the shoe as a lace. Bonnet I used the light pink yarn for the main colour of the bonnet, partly as a contrast to the dress but mostly because there wasn t enough Dark pink to make the bonnet. If you need help learning the fpdc, here s a good tutorial on YouTube Ch3 counts as DC for the back of the bonnet. 1) With light pink ch4, 13dc into 4 th ch from hook (or ch3 & 13dc in a magic loop) (14) 2) ch3, (2 fpdc around 1dc, 2dc in next) x 6, 2 fpdc around next dc, 1dc, join to top of ch3 (28) 3) ch3, (fpdc in each fpdc, 3dc in the spread out in the spaces between the dc s before next fpdc) x 6, 2 fpdc, 2dc, join (35) 4) ch3, (fpdc in each fpdc, 4dc in dc spaces) x 6, fpdc x 2, 3dc, join (42) 5) ch3, (fpdc in each fpdc, 5dc in dc spaces) x 6, fpdc x 2, 4dc, join (49) 6) ch3, (fpdc in each fpdc, 6dc in dc spaces) x 6, fpdc x 2, 5dc, join (56) 7) ch3, (fpdc in each fpdc, 7dc in dc spaces) x 6, fpdc x 2, 6dc, join (63)

7 8) ch3, BLO, dc in 57, turn. This is the new end of the row. Ch3 no longer counts as a dc, we are now working the side of the bonnet. 9-15) ch3, dc across, turn (57) At the end of row 15 do not turn 16) ch 41, sc in 2 nd ch from hook and in each ch across, now work along the row ends (the neck of the bonnet) work a (sc, ch2, sc) in each dc row end, (sc, ch2) in FLO of each dc, (sc, ch2, sc) in each row end to the other corner of the bonnet. Ch 41, sc in 2 nd ch from hook and in each ch across back to the bonnet neck. Turn the work so you are working along the front of the bonnet and working the BLO of row 15. (sc in 1dc, sk1, 5dc in next, sk1) across, join to the start of round 16, FO Bonnet trims With dark pink 1) join to a spare loop of round 8 (back of bonnet), (sc, ch4) in each loop around, join, FO 2) Join to the 1 st spare front loop of R16, (sc, ch2) in each loop across, FO Sew a small button to the centre back of the bonnet Sew the boa trim behind the frill edges of round 16 Bag (a little bit of yarn left, what else can I make?) With Light Pink 1) 6sc in a magic loop, pull closed (6) 2) 2sc in each sc around (12) 3) (1sc, 2sc in next) around (18) 4) (sc x 2, 2sc in next) around (24) 5) BLO, sc around 6-12) both loops, sc around (24) 13) ch3, tc around, join to top of ch3 14) ch1, sc around, change to dark pink on last sc

8 15) (ch2, sc) in each sc around, join, FO Bottom trim Join dark pink to spare loop from round 5 (sc, ch2) around, join, FO Handle Ch50, weave through the gaps between TC on round 13, tie a knot in the ends (but don t knot the bag closed, you want to put things in it) Finished (Hooray!) If you ve got to this point in the pattern well done. It s been hard putting that down into words and crochet terms. I looked at parts of this pattern and wondered myself what I was on about, but hopefully you ve plodded through.
