2 Special stitches, part 5 Shell stitch (shell st) - Sk 2 st's, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 st's, sc in next st. Front post half double crochet (fphdc) - Yarn over, insert hook from front to back around post of specified st, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook. Standing stitches You'll find a great tutorial on how to crochet standing stitches here.

3 Instructions Round 36 This round is worked in the back loop only, BLO! Note! To make it clearer I have used a different colour in the first 5 images. Start in an sc after 2 sc's that is made in an ch-1 space in the beginning of a short side. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}. * Sk 3 st's, 9 tr in next st, sk 3 st's, sc in next st {image 2 (image is wrong, it shows an normal sc instead of only in the BLO)}, make 1 shell st {image 3}, sk 3 st's, 9 tr in next st, sk 3 st's, sc in next st {image 4}, sc in next 54 st's {image 5}* Repeat from * to * 4 times, omitting the last sc on the last repeat. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 6}. Stitch count: 320 st's, (228 sc, 20 dc, 72 tr) or (224 sc, 72 tr, 4 shell st). Round 36

4 Round 37 Note! To make it clearer I have used a different colour in the first 7 images. Start in the last sc on any long side, just before a group of 9 tr. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}. Sc in 3 next st's. * 2 sc in next st {image 2}, sc in 2 next st's {image 3}, hdc in next st, dc in next st, tr in next 3 st's, dc in next 3 st's {image 4}, tr in next 3 st's, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next 2 st's {image 5}, 2 sc in next st {image 6}, sc in next 61 st's {image 7}.* Repeat from * to * 4 times, omitting the last 4 sc on the last repeat. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}. * Make 3 shell st's {image 2}, sc in 22 next st's {image 3}, [make 2 dc in the fl of the st on r35 (right below) {image 4 and 5}, sk 2 st's, sc in next 4 st's {image 6}] repeat 4 times {image 7}, sc in next 18 st's {image 8} * Repeat from * to * 4 times, omitting the last sc on the last repeat. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 9}. Stitch count: 328 st's (236 sc, 92 dc) or (224 sc, 32 dc, 12 shell st). Hint: There should be 5 st's on r35 in between the pair of dc's. Round 38

6 Round 39 Note! To make it clearer I have used a different colour in the first 11 images. Start in the last sc on a long side, just before a shell st. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}. Sc in 2 next st's {image 2}. * 2 sc in next st {image 3}, [hdc in next st, dc in next st, tr in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st {image 4}] repeat 2 times, sc in the same st as previous sc {image 5}, sc in 25 next st's {image 6}, [fphdc around 2 next st's (the dc's on r38) {image 7,8 and 9}, sk 2 st's, sc in 4 next st's {image 10} ] repeat 4 times, sc in next 20 st's {image 11}.* Repeat from * to * 4 times, omitting the last 3 sc on the last repeat. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 12}. Stitch count: 336 st's (264 sc, 16 hdc, 16 dc, 8 tr, 32 fphdc). Round 39

Fasten off and weave in ends {image 7}. Stitch count: 352 st's (284 sc, 24 hdc, 8 dc, 36 tr). Round 40

8 Round 41 This round is worked in the back loop only, BLO! Start in a dc made in the same st as a hdc in the beginning of a short side. Ch 1 (counts as 1 sc) or make a standing sc {image 1}. * Sk 2 st's, 2 dc each in next 4 st's {image 2 and 3}, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next st {image 4}, 2 dc each in next 4 st's {image 5}, sk 2 st's, sc in next st {image 6}, sc in 74 next st's {image 7}. * Repeat from * to * 4 times, omitting the last sc on the last repeat. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 8}. Stitch count: 372 st's (300 sc, 72 dc) and 4 ch-2 spaces. Round 41

9 Round 42 This round is worked in the back loop only, BLO! Start in any ch-2 space. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) or make a standing dc {image 1}. Ch 2 and make a dc in the same ch-2 space {image 2}. * Dc in 93 next st's {image 3}, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch-2 space {image 4}.* Repeat from * to * 4 times, omitting the last (dc, ch 2, dc) on the last repeat. Join to the third st of the beginning ch-3 or standing dc with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends {image 5}. Stitch count: 380 st's (380 dc) and 4 ch-2 spaces. Round 42

(Hdc, Ch 2, 2 hdc) in the same ch-2 space {image 2}. * Hdc in 95 next st's {image 3}, (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in next ch-2 space {image 4}* Repeat from * to * 4 times, omitting the last (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) on the last repeat.
