1 Marketing Announcement September 28, 2004 IBM zseries ServerProven rebate offering The offer You can receive a rebate of up to $150,000 USD ($210,000 CAD) if you acquire a qualifying new ServerProven Solution that consists of an eligible: new IBM zseries 990, 900, 890, or 800 server, or model upgrade to an existing zseries 900, 800, or S/390 Parallel Enterprise server that includes a minimum of one additional new engine, or processor feature upgrade on an existing zseries 990, 900, 890, or 800 server, and/or new IFL feature on a new or existing zseries 990, 900, 890, or 800 server and an eligible new ServerProven software solution for the eligible zseries hardware acquired. In order to qualify, the ServerProven software solution must not have been previously installed on a zseries server, at any time, by your Enterprise within the country in which you are located. The rebate will be equal to the lesser of either the invoice price of the ServerProven software solution acquired, or the eligible zseries rebate amounts listed in the Qualifying/Eligible products section of this announcement. For a list of eligible products and rebate amounts, refer to the Qualifying/Eligible products section. Start and/or end dates For hardware purchase transactions, IBM invoices for the eligible zseries hardware must have a date of on or after September 28, For hardware lease transactions, signed and accepted Leasing Certificates of Acceptance, or lease contracts with Deemed Acceptance for the eligible products must have a commencement date of on or after September 28, Invoices for the eligible ServerProven software solutions must have a date of on or after September 28, In addition, as long as invoices for the eligible ServerProven software solutions have a date of on or after September 28, 2004, they must also be dated no more than 90 calendar days before, or no more than 180 days after the invoice date or lease commencement date of the eligible zseries hardware. IBM reserves the right to modify or withdraw this offering at any time. This offering is subject to the terms and conditions of any applicable Agreements. In Canada, you are responsible for all applicable taxes such as Goods and Services Tax (GST), Quebec Sales Tax (QST), and other sales or value-added taxes which are extra. Rebate claiming process To receive a rebate, the completed and signed rebate request form along with the specified documentation, must be received by the IBM Redemption Center no later than eight months after the invoice date or lease commencement date of the eligible zseries hardware. The following are acceptable proofs of acquisition: a legible copy of the IBM invoice for the eligible zseries hardware, or a legible copy of the signed and accepted Leasing Certificate of Acceptance or lease contract with Deemed Acceptance for the eligible zseries hardware which lists the machine type, model, from and to models, feature level detail, and serial number, and a legible copy of the invoice for the eligible ServerProven software solution which must include the name of the software solution acquired, the name of the software company, and the purchase price engines This list may be used to determine the number of engines in a 9672 that is being model upgraded to a to qualify for a rebate, eligible model upgrades must include a minimum of one additional new engine. As proof of acquisition, send copies of invoices or lease documentation to the IBM Redemption Center at the address listed below. Invoices/lease documentation must be either typewritten or computer generated. Handwritten or altered documents will not be accepted. The name and company appearing on this form must match the information provided on the invoice/lease documentation. Invoices for the eligible zseries hardware must list the machine type, model, feature numbers, From/To machine types, From/To models, and From/To feature numbers, as appropriate, and serial number.
