Union memberships run for a calendar year. When you join, you can choose which calendar year you would like your membership to be valid for. If you join after the 31 July for the following year, you will still be granted immediate online access to The International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease; however, you will not be able to benefit from the member discount on the current year s world conference registration fees. 13 I am not sure how to pay online Log in (refer to section on logging in/my account pages 3-6) To carry out an online payment click on Join The Union or Renew your membership (right hand side of the screen) Fill in the relevant details, select membership category required and click on Continue Click on online payment (red button at the bottom left of the screen) 13

14 Select your credit card Fill in your card details and click on Continue Your payment will then be confirmed and you will receive an automatic message, acknowledging receipt of payment and confirming your membership details and validity 14

15 My credit card transaction failed Please check with your bank why they refused the payment and ask them to authorise it. Many banks are increasingly adding extra security measures for online payments, which can sometimes cause problems. 16 As a Union member, do I get a discount at the annual Union World Conference on lung health? Yes, as a Union member you will receive a EUR 50 discount on your registration fees (full 5-day registration, not including one-day passes) for The Union World Conference on Lung Health. To find out more, please visithttp://barcelona.worldlunghealth.org/. When you register for the world conference, your member discount will automatically be taken into account. How do I order technical guides and publications from The Union? You can find out about the range of different technical guides published by The Union at of our technical guides can be downloaded for free from this site. Members who receive the print edition of the Journal are also entitled to request free print copies of Union technical guides. Members seeking more active involvement can join up to three working groups and collaborate on research projects, presentations and scientific statements.
