Via Rte. 78 (from Western New Jersey) From Rte 78 Eastbound take exit 57 and follow signs for Rtes 1 & 9 and then for Rte 21 Northbound. Continue on Rte. 21 (McCarter Highway) Northbound approximately 2 miles through several lights. Just after traffic signal at Center Street, bear RIGHT at marked U-Turn. Proceed to the traffic signal and turn left onto Rte. 21 Southbound (McCarter Highway) entering right turn only lane. Turn right at second right turn signal, cross light-rail tracks and pull up to the gated entrance to the backstage lot. Press the intercom button to speak with Security and proceed straight ahead to the Security desk to check in. Driving or Walking from the Hilton Gateway/Newark Penn Station Exit Newark Penn Station at the Gateway West doors by the information desk and waiting area (near track 5). Facing the Hilton Hotel across the street, make a right on Raymond Plaza West and proceed to traffic light. Make a left onto Raymond Blvd. Proceed two blocks on Raymond Blvd. and turn right onto Mulberry Street (also named Ronald H. Brown Street). Walk 3 blocks, past Seton Hall Law School and several parking lots to Center Street. NJPAC will be directly in front of you. Cross Center Street and proceed to your left and the gray double doors marked Stage Door at the end of the NJPAC Page 3 of 11
4 building. Press the green button to speak with Security and gain access backstage. Once through, proceed down the alleyway to the double glass doors and Security desk on the right to check in. PARKING There is no designated parking available at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Paid automobile parking is available opposite the main entrance in the lot under Military Park and at other nearby facilities. Trucks and buses may not be left at the loading dock except by prior arrangement with the Production Manager. Vehicles that are left in the lot next to the complex will be towed prior to performances. LOAD IN The Victoria Theater stage is directly accessible via loading dock doors off SL. Distance from dock doors to stage is approximately 50. There is room at the dock for 1 tractor-trailer. Stage Loading Doors are 11'-8" W x 18'-6" H STAGING STAGE SPECIFICATIONS STAGE FLOOR Sprung flooring system, maple tongue and groove surface on ¼ neoprene pads. There are no traps in the floor. The use of stage fasteners, lags, screws, or nails, etc. must be discussed. The use of rosin and other dance treatment is restricted to areas covered by a linoleum or other dance floor coverings. Any damage to the floor must be repaired at the expense of the Presenter. The orchestra pit platforms can be manually set at three levels: stage height, audience level and orchestra pit level. DISCUSS POSITIONS WITH PRODUCTION MANAGER. PORTABLE PLATFORMS There are 32 units of 4-0 x 8-0 Wenger System risers with skirts (subject to availability). Leg heights are in increments of 8 up to 40. Casters are available. There are 9 units of 2 H X 6 W, 3 steps Wenger Choral Risers with railings (subject to availability). A fourth step add-on is available for choral risers. EMPTIES STORAGE Empties may be left in the loading dock. In addition, part of the basement under the Prudential Hall stage may be available for storage. 6 LIGHTING CONTACT & POLICY All lighting and circuitry plots need to be discussed with the Head Electrician at (973) PRODUCTION LIGHTING CONSOLE ETC ION with current software With Wireless Remote Focus Unit DIMMERS HOUSE LIGHTS CURTAIN WARMERS Kw Dimmers The house is wired in dimmer per circuit configuration House lights can be controlled from three positions: the lighting booth, the follow spot booth, and backstage wall panel located downstage right. There are five presets; full, half, concert, lecture, and out. Additionally, there is a local setting that can be set from either the lighting booth or the backstage panel allowing individual settings for 8 channels of houselights. The fade time between any two settings is approximately six seconds and is not adjustable. Curtain warmers can be controlled from three positions: the lighting booth, the followspot booth, and from the downstage right equipment rack. There are four presets: full, half, preset, and out. Additionally, there is a local setting that can be set from either the lighting booth or the backstage panel allowing individual settings for two channels. In rep, each of these two channels control a pair of Par 64 s on the balcony rail. The fade time between any two settings is approximately six seconds and is not adjustable. Page 6 of 11

COMMUNICATIONS HEARING ASSISTANCE VARIABLE ACOUSTIC CURTAINS POWER A four channel Clear-Com system is installed throughout the theater with base station capability at SL, Control Booth, House Mix or production table. 1 HME 4 station wireless system with 4 headsets, patched to the Clear-Com system. A dressing room monitor and paging system is installed, paging from SL. AUDIO (CONT D) Sennheiser SI-1013 infrared system with 20 headsets, 5 hearing aid plug in adapters, 5 hearing aid loop adapters. Manually operated velour acoustic curtains are located throughout the theater. These convert the theater from hard, live mode (ideal for recitals) to soft mode. DSL - isolated ground, 100A, 3 phase, 4 wire, 120/208 Vac disconnect. This is separate power from lighting. RECITAL EQUIPMENT MUSIC STANDS AND CHAIRS Manhasset music stands, chairs and music stands lights are available. 9 VIDEO MONITORING VIDEO & STAGE MANAGEMENT A Color and Black and white low light camera is located on the balcony rail focused on the stage. Monitors are located at the stage manager s station DSL and DSR. A limited number of other monitors and cameras are available. PROJECTION There are three projection screens, subject to availability SCREENS 1 15 X 20 framed screen with front and rear projection surfaces, rigged to fly 1 12 X 16 framed screen with front and rear projection surfaces, rigged to fly with dress kit and optional legs X 10 framed screen with front and rear projection surfaces, not rigged to fly with dress kit and legs STAGE MANAGEMENT There are positions SL and SR and in the booth for a stage manager. SL and SR position POSITIONS are equipped with both color and infra-red cameras, paging station, wired Clear-Com station, cue light, and house light controls. Page 9 of 11
10 SUPPORT SPACES **SMOKING AND PETS ARE PROHIBITED THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY** HOSPITALITY AND ARTIST ACCOMMODATIONS PERFORMERS Located just off Stage Left LOUNGE LAUNDRY DRESSING ROOMS A laundry room, equipped with 2 washers and 2 dryers, is located in the basement of Prudential Hall, accessible by elevator or stairs (SL of Victoria Theater). The laundry room is shared with Prudential Hall and use must be scheduled. All dressing rooms are located stage left. Each is equipped with audio monitoring and paging systems, and all have individual bathrooms with showers. STAGE LEVEL 2 Principal Dressing Rooms (mirrors for 4) SECOND FLOOR 4 Chorus Dressing Rooms (2 with mirrors for 8, 2 with mirrors for 10). All are accessible by stairs. OFFICE The Visiting Company Production Office is located stage level, just off SL. The phone number is (973) REHEARSAL SPACES CHASE ROOM With limited availability, it is located in the front of the house and is suitable for dance with mirrors and barres along two walls. The space is 50'-0 x 60'-0. PA in room consists of four Meyer UPA-1P speakers. These are typically rigged from ceiling truss and can be adjusted according to event configuration. Available power includes 100A disconnect Audio feeds to / from main patch available COMMUNITY ROOM With limited availability, it is located in the front of the house. It is suitable for dance rehearsals with 25'-0 of mirrors and barres along one wall. This space is 22'-0 x 32'-0. The ceiling height is 12' (10' at Barre). Page 10 of 11
