3 June Swaner Gates Concert Hall Technical Systems Outline The Gates Concert Hall is proscenium type theatre with a maximum seating capacity of -. The facility also includes a variable acoustic system allowing the stage to be set for concerts of any size and style. Below is an outline of the systems and equipment.. Basic Rental Package of Gates Concert Hall - Technical Information Staff Rental includes one Newman Center Stage Coordinator to assist with basic operational needs. This person does not serve as a technician or stage manager. Lighting Basic front and top wash. Controlled from Stage Manager s Position (SMP) with ETC Paradigm Architectural Control Processor w/ touchscreen interface. Audio Basic audio system includes a CD/Tape Deck, and one Hand Held Mic. Audio is controlled by the auto mix systems at the Stage Manager s Position (SMP) by NCPA tech or trained renter rep. Clear Com System Three Clear-Com head-sets will be place where the renter requires. Additional head-set and wireless packs can be rented for an additional charge. Notes: - Follow spots are available to rent, however, if renter uses their own operators, the operators will have to be scheduled for on-site safety training. - The Main Drape can only be opened from stage right, the SMP is stage left. - If renter wants to use the Fly System they must send their operators to onsite safety training prior to use. - Renter is not allowed to operate any rigging systems without NCPA technical staff present. - Renter is responsible for making sure the facility is returned to default settings. - The dance floor or production floor must be used if renter is tap dancing, using rosin, has set pieces over 00lbs or has any object or operation that could damage the finish of the oak floor. Renter can use only approved tape on the oak floor. Renter will be charged for any cleaning and refinishing that is required post production.. Labor The Newman Center in a non-union facility. Some labor costs are included in certain package pricing. The following rules and guidelines apply to all labor provided by the Newman Center and its subcontractors: A minimum of four hours will be charged for all labor calls Breaks o Crew will receive a fifteen minuet break every two to three hours worked o A one hour unpaid meal break will be given for every five hours worked o Meal breaks will be start between the fourth and sixth hour worked from the start of the shift and/or the last meal break. o A Meal Penalty fine of $ per technician will be charged for every half hour worked outside the meal break window. A fifteen minute grace period will be granted for performances and show critical events. Rehearsals do not constitute a show critical event. A Crew Chief is required for all calls with eight or more workers Overtime o Overtime is billed at 0% the base rate o Overtime will take effect after the ten hours of work per day and/or 0 hours per week. o The base rate on the following national holidays is 0% the standard. New Year s Eve (after pm), New Years Day, Veteran s Day, Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Friday, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day hours notice is required for any cancellation or shift change.
