Via the New Jersey turnpike (from Philadelphia and Southwestern New Jersey) Take the New Jersey turnpike Northbound to Exit 15W for Rte. 280 Westbound. Continue on Rte. 280 Westbound to the exit for Rte. 21 Southbound (McCarter Highway). Proceed approximately ¾ mile on McCarter Highway. Pass Lombardy Street and enter right turn only lane. Turn right at second right turn signal, cross light-rail tracks and pull up to the gated entrance to the backstage lot. Press the intercom button to speak with Security and proceed straight ahead to the Security desk to check in. Via the New Jersey turnpike and Rte. 280 (From NYC via Holland Tunnel) From the tunnel follow signs for New Jersey Turnpike. Take the New Jersey Turnpike Northbound to Exit 15W for Rte. 280 westbound. Continue on Rte. 280 Westbound to the exit for Rte.21 Southbound (McCarter Highway). Proceed approximately ¾ mile on McCarter Highway. Pass Lombardy Street and enter right turn only lane. Via Garden State Parkway (From Northern New Jersey) Take Garden State Parkway Southbound to exit 145 to Rte. 280 Eastbound. Stay to the right after toll booths and continue to follow signs onto Rte. 280 East. Take Exit 15 (signposted for Downtown Arts) onto Route 21 Southbound (McCarter Highway). Proceed approx. ¾ mile on McCarter Highway. Pass Lombardy Street and enter right turn only lane. Turn right at second right turn signal, cross light-rail tracks and pull up to the gated entrance to the backstage lot. Via Rte. 80 and Rte. 280 (From Northwestern New Jersey) Take Rte. 80 Eastbound to Rte. 280 Eastbound. Take Exit 15 (signposted for Downtown Arts) onto Rte 21 Southbound (McCarter Highway). Proceed approx. ¾ mile on McCarter Highway. Pass Lombardy Street and enter right turn only lane. Turn right at second right turn signal, cross light-rail tracks and pull up to the gated entrance to the backstage lot. Via Rte. 78 (from Western New Jersey) From Rte 78 Eastbound take exit 57 and follow signs for Rtes 1 & 9 and then for Rte 21 Northbound. Continue on Rte. 21 (McCarter Highway) Northbound approximately 2 miles through several lights. Just after traffic signal at Center Street, bear RIGHT at marked U- Turn. Proceed to the traffic signal and turn left onto Rte. 21 Southbound (McCarter Highway) entering right turn only lane. Turn right at second right turn signal, cross light-rail tracks and pull up to the gated entrance to the backstage lot. Press the intercom button to speak with Security and proceed straight ahead to the Security desk to check in. Driving or Walking from the Hilton Gateway/Newark Penn Station Exit Newark Penn Station at the Gateway West doors by the information desk and waiting area (near track 5). Facing the Hilton Hotel across the street, make a right on Raymond Plaza West and proceed to traffic light. Make a left onto Raymond Blvd. Proceed two blocks on Raymond Blvd. and turn right onto Mulberry Street (also named Ronald H. Brown Street). Walk 3 blocks, past Seton Hall Law School and several parking lots to Center Street. NJPAC will be directly in front of you. Cross Center Street and proceed to your left and the gray double doors marked Stage Door at the end of the NJPAC building. Press the green button to speak with Security and gain access backstage. Once through, proceed down the alleyway to the double glass doors and Security desk on the right to check in. PARKING There is no designated free parking available at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Paid automobile parking is available opposite the main entrance in the lot under Military Park and at other nearby facilities. Page 4 of 7

5 LOADING ACCESS The Center for Arts Education has no loading dock and limited loading doors. Door dimensions are as follows: Stage Loading Doors are 10 above Stage Floor level. Doors are 6-11 high by 6-0 wide. Theater is equipped with ½ ton chain hoist, suspended at stage loading doors. The smallest door to the loading area: 2-9 x 6-10 STAGING SPECIFICATIONS STAGE FLOOR The stage has a sprung system with a masonite deck resting on ¼ neoprene pads. There are no traps in the stage floor. The use of any stage fasteners, lags, screws, or nails, etc. must be discussed. The use of rosin or other dance treatment is restricted to areas covered by linoleum or other dance floor coverings. Any damage to the floor must be restored at the expense of the Presenter. STAGE DIMENSIONS Width: Full width of stage 44-2 Depth: Full depth of stage: 35-2 REHEARSAL EQUIPMENT MIRRORS One wall has a 10 x 36 mirror in 4 wide panels 2 Single Side Portable 8 ballet barres RECITAL EQUIPMENT ACOUSTIC CURTAINS 3 Walls may be masked with Velour Curtains, no fullness MUSIC CHAIRS AND STANDS 60 Wenger Symphony chairs and 75 music stands are available for the Center for Arts Education Center. PIANO INVENTORY* 1 Steinway Grand Steinway Model 1098 upright *All pianos used for public performance must be tuned. Availability and tuning costs must be discussed with the Production Manager. DANCE FLOOR Harlequin Reversible Dance Floor RIGGING SPECIFICATIONS GRID The grid is above the stage floor and is made of 1-1/2 schedule 40 pipe in a 27 x36 grid of 3 squares. DIMMERS K ETC Sensor dimmers All dimmers are long rise time. The circuits are wired in dimmer per circuit. DIMMER LOCATIONS AND NUMBERS Dimmers are 2 P and G flush mount connections Four 3 gang wall boxes Twelve 3 gang at the grid and twelve 4 gang concentrated towards the center of the grid. Boxes are equally spaced throughout the grid. Pigtails from boxes are 4 long.
