4 James Angle, Fire Chief James is currentlythe Fire Chiefofthe Palm Harbor Special Fire Control and Rescue Districtwhere he has served for 12 years. He has close to thirty-five years offire protection and EMS experience. During his career he has served in six emergency service agencies including four in the State of Florida. He has risen through the ranks from Firefighter/Paramedic to his current position as Fire Chief. Chief Angle is the past-president of the Pinellas County Fire Chiefs' Association, the current Presidentofthe Florida Association ofspecial Districts, and is a member ofthe Florida Firefighters Employment, Standards, and Training Council. He also serves on the St Petersburg College Fire Science Advisory Council. He holds state certifications as Fire Inspector, Instructor, and Company Officer, as well as a State certified Paramedic. He has earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from Nova University and has received the designation of Certified District Manager from the Florida Association of Special Districts. He also is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program and is a Chief Fire Officer Designee. James has authored two Emergency Service textbooks, one on occupational safety and health and the other on Firefighting Strategies and Tactics.
