1 COMMISSIONER PROCEEDINGS May 20, 2008 Minutes of the Board of Wilkin County Commissioners held at the Courthouse, Breckenridge, Minnesota, on Tuesday, May 20, All Commissioners were present. Blaufuss called the meeting to order at 8:00 A.M. Motion by Folstad, seconded by Perry and carried, to approve the agenda with additions. Motion by Hovland, seconded by Miranowski and carried, to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2008, meeting. Commissioner Perry offered the following resolution and moved for it s adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hovland and carried. RESOLUTION Memorial Day Appropriation WHEREAS, Sec , Minnesota Statutes, provides that County Boards may appropriate annually to each post of recognized military serviceman's organization incorporated in the State of Minnesota within their respective County, not to exceed the sum of $ to be used for expenses incurred for Memorial Day Services; and WHEREAS, Sec , Minnesota Statutes, provides that the County Board of each County may appropriate from the Revenue Fund of the County not more than $ annually to aid in the observance of Memorial Day in commemoration of the noble and valiant deeds of the Nation's soldier dead; and THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the sum of $ be appropriated to each of the following organizations in Wilkin County to wit: Knud Ellingson Post No. 376, Rothsay, MN; Alfred Lockman Post No. 53, Breckenridge, MN; Nelson-Otteson Post No. 370, Wolverton, MN; Veterans of Foreign Wars #2776, Breckenridge, MN, and the be authorized to issue warrants in payment of same. Adopted this 20 th day of May, Commissioner Folstad offered the following resolution and moved for it s adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hovland and carried. RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED, that the Wilkin County Board of Commissioners approve the planning request for Jim Klein to construct a building 111'from the center of County Road No. 16. The property is located in NE 1/4 Section 21, Township 133 North, Range 46 West, Nilsen Township, Wilkin County, Minnesota.
2 Adopted this 20 th day of May, STATE OF MINNESOTA) ) VARIANCE ORDER COUNTY OF WILKIN) In the matter of the request of: Jim Klein The above-entitled matter came on to be heard before the Wilkin County Planning Commission on the 19 th day of May, 2008, on a petition for variance from the requirements of the Wilkin County Zoning Ordinance, for the following described property: NE 1/4, Section 21, Township 133 North, Range 46 West, Nilsen Township. IT IS ORDERED, that the variance is granted to allow for the variance from the strict application of the Wilkin County Zoning Ordinance upon the following conditions and reasons: Construct a new building 111'from the center of County Road No. 16 with the following condition. If for any reason, the new building should become an obstacle for future county road or infrastructure improvements, it will be the owner s responsibility to move the building and the owner not to receive any compensation from Wilkin County for any issues related to road construction or road traffic associated with adjacent County Road No. 16. Approved this 20 th day of May, The following claims were allowed and ordered paid on May 22, 2008, as provided by Chapter 673, Law of 1969, on motion by Miranowski, seconded by Perry and carried.
